Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a great use for a derelict railway line. Some of the art along the route is a bit odd but keeps the walk interesting. I walked from Hudson Yard to Chelsea market which was really nice. Maybe not enough shaded areas for me as the Sun was quite intense that day but the whole walk felt peaceful which is always great to have in the middle of a city.

This place was amazing. Very moving and really well done. Very respectful. Can't believe I got to hold things that were kept from 9/11. Highly recommend

So glad we went as a side trip in NY. We wandered around soaking up the atmosphere and visited the narrowest townhouse in NY.

Washington Square Park pulsates with NYC energy – street performers, artists, and friendly chaos. Despite the crowds, the park offers a charming green escape and a glimpse into the city's history.

Very easy wayfinding and fun art in the elevators! We started out, as we often do, on the top floor of a museum. Here it's the seventh and beyond the interesting art inside there's a great terrace view of the city with several interesting sculptures to see. The hit of our visit was the large Edward Hopper (one of our favorites) selection from the permanent collection on view. Wonderful museum that offers something new every time we visit.

I was amazed by this region. Instead of vast buildings, there are small, attractive structures. Friends Apartment is also located in this region.

Unexpectedly peaceful way to get from our hotel in Greenwich Village to the 9/11 memorial. Beautiful, lots of trees and benches, several spots where you can sit and watch the river activity. Lots of runners in the morning. Various other small parks along the way. Busy bike route.

Being a massive friends fan since it started. I was visiting NY for a few days and this was on my list to do. It’s a relatively easy walk to get to thanks to Apple Maps it’s just like it was shown on the show. Obviously I had to get the iconic picture

Old Pier 55 imploded and redesigned into a garden and performance site. Regularly scheduled shows during the warmer months in amphitheater. Nice Hudson River views. Unfortunately New Jersey is on the other side. If you haven't been here yet, place it in your planner.

The Museum of Illusions is a very short, interesting museum. It is small and will take you less than an hour, but I’d say it’s worth a visit. There are some cool photo opportunities that will mesmerize you in every way possible. Each room has a different illusion. Whether it’s multiple mirrors, slanted rooms, or just illusions in general. I recommend visiting here.

If you love to laugh and you want to have an iconic New York experience then you need to go to the Comedy Cellar. The Village Underground is their main stage and The Fat Black Pussycat is their other stage attached upstairs. They also have another venue close by and we've had a great time at all of them, but the late show at the Village Underground on a Saturday night has always been an epic experience for us because typically a celebrity comic will show up as a surprise and treat you to new material they're working on or just want to get back on a stage and make you belly laugh! This is a 5 star awesome New York thing to do!!!

I was looking for something different to do with my young adult boys during a meet up in NYC and thought we would try The Museum of Interesting Things! It turned out to be less of a typical "museum" and more of an authentic NYC experience! I easily connected via email with the amazing host and historian extraordinaire, Denny and secured an appointment time. Upon entering, I knew we were in for a special treat. Denny presented us with many different objects from the 19th and 20th centuries, many related to film, sound and photography accompanied by the historical background and a chance to try out the objects ourselves! Denny is knowledgeable and personable, with a delightfully quirky sense of humor. If you are interested in going back in time, or a nostalgic trip down memory lane, don't miss this! My only regret is that we didn't have enough time to go through each item in his apartment! I saw some gems hiding in there!

This is a branch of the New York Public Library. What makes it worth visiting is that it looks like it had been a church in the past. The outside looks like a church and inside there is an interesting winding staircase with some pretty stained-glass windows. This is not really worth going out of your way to see, but if you are in the area, it is worth stepping inside for a few minutes.

Pier 45 is a very long pier with a great view of the skyline. There weren’t many people there when I went, and it can be quite windy, but there is a great view of New Jersey as well as the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
