#32 of 428 Concerts & Shows in New York City
My wife and I were visiting our son, who lives in Astoria, NY and we went to Smalls Jazz Club for a concert featuring George Gee on May 21, 2016.
Also, the line for the Saturday shows start forming around 1 hour before the show so your best bet is get there a little early and wait.

Caught the Bill Charlap Trio this week and the music, the setting, even the crowd of fellow jazz lovers made the whole concert an evening to remember!
The early show was short (~ 80 minutes) due to the fact that they schedule 2 shows per night to accommodate the many folks who want a chance to squeeze into this tiny venue, up close and personal with the musicians.

I'm a jazz fan and I search for something really unique to check out in NY, I search for a small, quiet & laid back bar who have live shows.
When I looked him up I found he plays at major Jazz festivals and other shows all around the world.

Amazing talent can be found at their shows.
We visited The Duplex to see a show in their cabaret theatre - it was great fun and we stuck around afterwards for a few drinks.

Established by Edna St. Millay to support innovative new plays, this theater consistently puts on high quality plays by recognized play writes.
My sisters and I needed a night on the town which began with a visit to our favorite theater, Cherry Lane Theatre, to see "Out of the Mouth of Babes".

Saw the latest dramatization of Sweeney Todd with Norm Lewis and as usual the production was amazing - the theatre has been transformed into a London pie shop and the actors are singing un-mic'ed, the pre-show pie...
They always put on an amazing show and we are always amazed at how good Off Broadway theater can be in such a small space.

The seats in the theatre were very comfortable with alot of leg room , Great view of the stage and the sound system was good that you can hear every word the actors are saying .
We have seen many wonderful shows.

My "filling" of the pie: First, the theater itself is small-ish, a small main area without conventional row seats (more in a bit) and an even smaller (2 row) mezzanine, which is "normal" seating with all great vie...
One of the best shows we’ve attended
