Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

i went there to see Sam Heughan and Josh Horowitz do a live podcast. the theater is a decent size and has an interesting balcony. most everyone i spoke with could see well wherever they were seated. they had no trouble accomodating me in my electric wheelchair. they keep a space in the front row on the aisle for handicapped people

My most-loved movie theater (though Metrograph is just behind it). Such good films, so well-run, it has been a mainstay for cinema lovers for decades. Unlike most movie places, it's for grown-ups! (Except for a nice kids' program.) I've been here dozens and dozens of times over the years and plan on continuing.

The place is really nice, staff was friendly, and although naturally an older location everything was clean and comfortable. Theater personality to it. Very pleased with my first experience.

Movies, by their nature, are transformative. You sit down and enter another time and another place. Such is the case with the Quad Cinema and W. 13th Street.

You enter through non-descript doors off the busy sidewalk and are transported into a wonderful movie goers experience. The interior lobby is sleek and modern with a nice refreshment stand and gorgeous (if you can use that in this context) bathrooms. The individual theaters are an intimate space (with around 120 seats each) and offer very comfortable seating. There simply is not a bad seat in the house and the entire experience was wonderful.

The movie selection is primarily independent and niche films, but often feature outstanding acting and directorial performances. The admission prices are excellent for New York City (as of this review $16 for adults and $13 for seniors) providing a tremendous value for anyone lucky enough to wander through those non-descript doors.

Our group of three adults visited during the mid afternoon to see "Amazing Grace", and were reminded of the deep spiritual roots of the late Aretha Franklin in this outstanding documentary. On the main floor was a delightful Gourmet Cafe, and we went downstairs to the see the film, where they had a traditional concession stand as well. It's great to have theaters that show movies of real substance and true artistry.

I usually enjoy coming to this movie theater - it's conveniently located, there's always a movie I want to see at a time that works for me, and the seats are comfortable. It's a busy movie theater precisely because of its location, so buy tickets early if you want to ensure a good seat. Sometimes the escalators don't work, but they're fixed quickly. It's a large movie theater (3 floors), so there are plenty of movie options, and it's decorated nicely for a chain. The bathrooms could be cleaned more frequently, though.

Nice theater... went to ipic as a group of four. We sat in the same row but only 2 people can sit together. The seats are shaped like pods, with a wall between you and next person. They give you a blanket.. that is a nice touch since it's freezing in there. The food is okay the street tacos barely have anything in them. And the kids chicken tenders are just 2 pieces. They should atleast have 1 or 2 four seater pods for family's.

My wife & I went here on a Saturday afternoon to see a movie that was not showing anywhere near our neighborhood. Its win-win situation when both spouses are actually into the exact same movie & want to see it badly enough to travel to unfamiliar territory to see it.The theatre itself & the movie were nice.Concession stand was decent, staff efficient, bathroom large & clean. However, come time to get back on our side of town the West side of Manhattan, the area is so remote that we honestly couldnt find the street we were being picked up from. The four corners of the theatre are surrounded by water, being in the financial district with a highway separating them! This is NOT an area to be in when it is cold outside & you have to pick your way thru the blocks.I had to call our driver to come find us.Even with navigation from the cellphone,it was still impossible to tell which way to walk. Not sure I would go here again. At least not in the winter time.

We were exhausted after lots of walking and thought we’d go see a movie rather than a show for a rest one evening. We’d chosen the film and I started researching cinemas in the area, and came across this amazing place …. We were able to see our film Jaffe Art Theatre …. If your movie is available on this screen, please choose it, you will not be disappointed…. The film is the film but you feel like you are taking part in history, watching the film in what feels like a museum…. A really special experience on our trip. (Lots of lovely places around for pre/post drinks or food too)

The Alamo Drafthouse is a geek's dream, with incredible film memorabilia that embraces nostalgia!
We had a fantastic time and enjoyed magnificent food and drink at the bar. Staff were friendly and generous with their time and service.
