Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Visited these museum grounds over Memorial Day weekend. Absolutely beautiful location on a hillside overlooking the Hudson River, this museum resembles an old fortress/castle. Cost us 25.00 recommended but pay what you can/wish. Some beautiful tapestries and statues/carvings fill the castle like interior. Awesome raised ceilings add to the "feel". Courtyard gardens are an excellent touch and seem well maintained. Well worth an early Saturday trip for this treasure. We are planning to head back to explore the trail system all around the museum. A treasure in NYC's backyard.

This was a fun place for my 6 year old. He enjoyed all of the rooms and experiences but really couldn't wait to see the enormous ball pit. It did not disappoint. Price point is a bit high to make it a repeat experience (we are NYers). But it was a great way to spend a weekend morning. Staff was very friendly!

Always enjoy coming to Sotheby's and checking out the exhibits. This past weekend was a little off-putting, however, because we had a strange interaction with an employee that was working the retail level on the ground floor (the area with all the handbags). My daughter was looking at a carry-on case and barely touched it when a sales woman marched over and barked that we should ask for help (there are no "do not touch" signs anywhere, FYI). This "lady" also was quick to tell us that the price of the bag was $20K; the subtext of course being that she presumed we couldn't afford it. So bizarre and so unlike the other professionals that work at Sotheby's. I guess there's a bad apple in every bunch, so I won't dock Sotheby's for this one unpleasant person. I'm sure she won't last long.

Professionalism, caring for the artist and attention to all the important aspects from the stage of artist selection, to established contacts to be worked to culminate in exhibition, global visibility and sales. The dedication of every team we call the "Dream Team" is exceptional. In the management of the career of the represented artist we are delighted with the digital system offered. For those of us who came from a previous training in business management, we give a note 10. The professionals at the Agora Gallery demonstrate a very special humanist side besides deep knowledge and study in art. Being recognized by the Agora Gallery conveys the message that we are in the right place: The Temple of the Arts. Being represented by the Agora Gallery is something difficult to write. It would be easier to express feelings. One word just sums it all up: gratitude.

We were staying at the hostel on the UWS so took the 1 train to 79th & Broadway to see this Banksy on the DSW building before walking on to the American Museum of Natural History right in this same area. I have been a follower of Banksy's work for some time and a couple days later we went to the Banksy Exhibition: Genius or Vandal in the city that we bought tickets for thru Fever. That was an amazing exhibition altho it is unauthorized by the artist himself. Really explained a lot about the symbolism of his art.. My family living in the UK also really know Banksy's work as well. It inspired me to buy the book on Amazon written by the artist called Wall and Piece. He certainly has a sense of purpose and a sense of humor, and he's a sneaky little devil. :)

Very respect art venue showing up and coming artists and traditional modern favorites. Chelsea is a scene and this is where it's happening. Better yet, it's free!

I checked out the Diane Arbus show at the David Zwirner Gallery. It attempts to replicate the famous/infamous 1972 Arbus retrospective at MOMA that shocked the New York art scene. Lovely gallery space right next to Chelsea Piers and the High Line on 19th Street. Well worth exploring the gallery if in the 'hood. Of course, it is free, but parking a car may be challenging.

My friend and I visited this museum during the Hip Hop Exhibition. It was an amazing exhibition and done very well. There was only one other exhibit going on and it was alright. It's a beautiful, big building and the little shop at the bottom is very comfortable and cute. We wished there was more to do in the museum, but the hip hop exhibit was very cool, regardless. It was a bit expensive for what there was, but still worth a visit if you love photography and especially if you also love the hip hop history.

So glad I made it to this exhibit. An "experience" is exactly right - the room was filled with beautiful vibes and people, and we had a wonderful time.

I was really impressed by the Grey Art Gallery at NYU. They mounted a wonderful show entitled "Art After Stonewall' with another small museum in the area and did a great job telling the story of life after the Stonewall riots into the AIDS crisis. The show was a combination of photos, paintings, video art and clips of documentaries. It was sad and humorous at the same time.

The art department here does a nice job and the staff is very courteous. The best part is that the visiting the gallery is free and it is a nice way to spend the afternoon.

I went searching for this after reading some of the reviews on this website. It was quite hard to find and we walked straight past it the first time. It is located on a chain link fence at the corner of 7th Avenue and 11th Street.

We spent at least an hour reading the tiles and their beautiful messages after 9/11. I'd say this is the one thing not to miss out on when visiting NYC and it's completely free!!

This should be on everyone’s checklist! If you are visiting NYC, this is THE place to go to whether you are serious about art or serious about having a good time around some awesome art. Well designed gallery, courteous and fun bartenders, servers and door men/women, eclectic and classy guests and most of all talented artists painting right in front of you while collaborating on their work with you. The creators Anthony and Adriane are extremely hospitable to each and every guest…you feel like you’ve known them forever. They are also super passionate about what they do so much so that their energy is contagious. Their unique concept hooked me from the first time I attended and made me come back the next two Fridays to see the piece as it evolved over three weeks. Previous artists are frequently on hand mingling and answering questions personally about their artwork created right here.

Tickets are very reasonable and the free drinks and party snacks are definitely a plus (hard to get anything for free in NYC these days). If you are visiting NYC and want to have an enjoyable night out while getting a taste of some great artwork from artists around the globe or if you just want to make new friends in an intimate, non-pretentious setting, you simply HAVE to check them out! A must see!
