Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really interesting to understand much more about the attack, the exhibition around the service dogs responding to the attack was a great addition.

Heard and seen so many films with the statue in, couldn’t come to New York and not visit this amazing monument, just a short ferry trip, walk around the grounds, to learn interesting facts in the museum, really good value for money 😊

...a long-time local who is passionate about his Subject and sharing it with his Charges. His friendly, energetic and infectious style will hold your interest as he relates the history of this beautiful and glorious piece of American Gilded Age architecture. Actually, his is the only tour I've ever taken twice, now and a year ago while on vacation to NYC. There's a lot of history, interesting facts, and much to see and hear on his tour. Don't miss it!

    Time Square Review & Overview
Time Square, located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, is one of the most iconic and recognizable places in the world. Known as "The Crossroads of the World," it is a bustling hub of activity, both day and night, attracting millions of visitors each year.

The square itself is famous for its bright lights, billboards, and large video screens, creating a mesmerizing and electric atmosphere. From Broadway theaters to world-renowned restaurants, Time Square offers a wide range of entertainment options for visitors of all ages.

One of the most popular attractions in Time Square is the New Year's Eve ball drop, where thousands of people gather to ring in the new year. The ball, weighing over 12,000 pounds, is raised to the top of a flagpole at the stroke of midnight, and the crowd erupts in cheers as it begins its descent.

Visitors can also take a stroll through the bustling pedestrian plazas, which are lined with street performers, food vendors, and souvenir shops. The area is also home to several museums, including the Museum of Modern Art and the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum.

If you're looking for a bite to eat, Time Square has no shortage of dining options, from fast food chains to five-star restaurants. For those in search of a shopping experience, there are numerous department stores and high-end boutiques, offering everything from clothing and accessories to electronics and souvenirs.

Despite its reputation as a tourist hotspot, Time Square is also a bustling business center, home to numerous corporate headquarters and media outlets. The square's central location makes it an ideal place for business meetings, and its busy atmosphere and wide range of amenities make it a popular choice for conventions and events.

Overall, Time Square is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to New York City. Its iconic lights, energy, and endless entertainment options make it a one-of-a-kind experience that cannot be missed. Whether you're a local or a tourist, you'll be sure to have an unforgettable time in the heart of Midtown Manhattan.

The Rockefeller Center is an immense 22 acre business complex in the heart of midtown Manhattan. Luck would have it, my timing was bang-on for a performance of the Today Show. More luck, I could have swore that I saw an aging David Letterman walk out of the famed Rainbow Room, I could have been wrong, but I doubt it. The property is just jammed with attractions and I just wandered around looking up and about. The business sections were occupied by the likes of the Radio City Music Hall theatre, the home of NBC Studios and more. The enormous Xmas tree and bustling skating rink were fascinating.

After taking the ferry to see the Statue of Liberty, we travelled across to Ellis Island. I thought we would be there max 30 minutes but the teens actually enjoyed it. In particular, they were captivated by the Through America’s Gate exhibit on the second floor. It showed via photos and artefacts the step by step process that immigrants were taken through to qualify for citizenship or be deemed an “undesirable alien” and face deportation. This included a medical examination, legal examination and potentially a hearing of special inquiry. The exhibit highlighted the living conditions, and the raw emotion of the immigrants in a very vulnerable time of their lives. The teens also enjoyed the Research Center where we found the immigration records for a great grandfather who landed on Ellis Island in 1914. Ellis Island captures the beautiful diversity of ethnicity and culture of immigrants entering NY whilst also acknowledging mistakes of the past. A must see.

Great to visit the shops, bars and small parks along the avenue. It was very busy but I'd say worth it for the shopping.

Washington Square Park is about 10 acres in size. Dominated by the magnificent arch that is nicely lit up at night. Recommended.

Even though you can’t go up in it currently, it’s worth stopping by to go in the base (free). I wouldn’t make a special trip for it, but check it out if you are in the neighborhood (Moynihan Train Hall, Hudson Yards, Madison Square Garden)
