Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Amtrak trains and employees on them are ok. The ticket office employee not do much. If can avoid dealing with the ticket office in Boston then do so. The Amtrak app is much nicer then waiting line then to be told their on break. Come back in 15 min!

Also go to the bathroom on the train if you can. The north station bathrooms are pretty disgusting.

We use Amtrak's Downeaster throughout the year. For, it's 10-15 minutes to get to the local station and it's a straight shot, with some brief stops, to Boston's North Station where TD Garden is. It's so much easier and less expensive than driving when we want to see the Boston Bruins, or Boston Celtics. If you want to go further, North Station is where you can access the subway, which we've done to avoid traffic as we travel throughout Boston. On the train you have free wifi, and the seats are comfortable. groupings of four seats can be found at either end of the train, and there are restrooms and a food car plus an upgraded business car. The conductors are generally friendly, and knowledgeable. The train is on time most of the time. One time, however, we were finished with our game at TD and came out to find that our train, the last one, had been cancelled because a tree had fallen on the tracks during a storm. I would think that there would be a maintenance crew on standby 24/7, but not this time. It took over an hour of phone time and face time with agents at North Station before we found out that we would have to stay in Boston overnight. We had stayed overnight on purpose before, so we knew we could stay a few steps down the street at Citizen M, who had room for us, took pity on us, and gave us a free breakfast. The next morning our rescheduled train was also cancelled. Our next rescheduled train was delayed. We finally got home about 14 hours later than planned and no, Amtrak didn't pay for our lodging. All things being equal, however, we'll take the train over driving any day. It's an hour and 50 minutes for us, which is shorter than driving and no parking fees. The station we use has restrooms, wifi, benches inside and out, live staff for part of the day, and a self-serve ticket kiosk if you need it for printed tickets. It takes credit cards only. During the day, Patsy is a most helpful station agent. Schedules and other info is available. Book ahead during busy periods so insure seats. You can book online at the Amtrak site.

We (Family of 4) were getting off a green train at Park Station and walking toward the area to switch to the red station when a woman hit me really hard on my head and unzipped my side purse. Luckily my husband turned the corner and started shouting at her. No police! No security! Not even the ticket person. There was NO ONE TO Help us. She took off running when we realized she was trying to rob me. Her partner wasn't able to complete the job. I'm thankful my children were not hurt. This is absolutely unacceptable! We were excited about Boston but I'm thankful to be back in Texas where I can carry my gun. I highly recommend taking a LYFT. The drivers are all real nice and you don't have to worry about being attacked. It's really hard for me to encourage my children to go to College in Boston. It's NOT a safe place.
