Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful botanical gardens - different regions highlight the different plants in that region. Beautiful areas for sone great picture taking. The gardens are quiet & nice for walking or serenity

Hopped off the bus here and glad we did, it is such a tranquil and beautiful place to visit. Love the fact that residents can get in for free.

Amazing place..a true delight with so much variety and unique indoor plants ..took about an hour to complete the tour. There is a small table with plants for sale towards the end (where indoor plants were kept). Dahlia garden outside the conservatory is not to be missed. Parking was available close by friday afternoon near tennis center on the side street. Can't believe, I had not visited this place yet...true hidden gem.

It’s by accident that I discovered this hidden garden and steps in the sunset section of San Francisco. It’s only 2 blocks away from the famous 16 ST tile steps by the Grand view Park. The path up is the narrow and about 160 steps to the top, I was amazed by the pattern, details of the tiles. And at the bottom left by the entrance , you have cute color bench which matched the overall steps pattern. It’s a amazing sights. With the gardens on both sides, I felt like a little kid wander in the Alice wonderland. You need to see this one for your self. It simply breath taking.

You bus take Muni bus 28 and N train to get here. Remember look for Grand view park & 16th street tile steps. And hidden garden is just 2 blocks north.

I attended a recent conference at Moscone’s center. We spent a lot of time at Yerba Buena gardens. The gardens and fountains are very beautiful. The entry is free. There are a number of other activities nearby.

A beautiful space with amazing views, a spot where locals play tennis and exercise their dogs.

But the park has a Hollywood connection. The grand staircase was used in the film "What's Up, Doc?" and the damage done by four vehicles driving down the steps is still visible in 2022. It also appeared in the Coppola film "The Conversation."

The architecture of the area is wonderful, none more impressive as the Alta Plaza Apartment Co-op that borders the park. Built in a long ago era, when buildings towered upwards, it's a remarkable example of the opulence of the 20's. The building was designed by local architect Conrad A. Meussdorffer, and is an absolute jaw dropping gem.

Nearby, the hill drops down into the Marina, quite an experience for new riders to the 22 Filmore bus, who don't realize the bus turns away from the steep incline.
    Just.

This garden sits right next to the California Academy of Science on the Western side. It is a quaint little spot even in the rain. The only fault I could find is that there was no pathway from the entrance area to the Shakespeare bust unless it was in the area roped off due to replanting. I think on a sunny day it would be a lovely place to sit under the shade of trees.

Visited this garden on our first day in San Francisco and it was beautiful, so much so that a wedding party were having some photos taken. What a lovely moment.

Gorgeous Rose garden in the middle of the Golden Gate Park. Large variety of beautiful roses. Garden is easily accessible via public transportation and in walking distance to other attractions from the Park.

Very nice little garden on several levels, and the new innovative garden on the flat roof of the bus terminal is very close.

I stopped by Fay park on the way to Lombard street. It is tiny, but pretty. There are beautiful flowers though.

A "must see" from July through October when the blooms are off the charts (Aug. and Sept. is the peak time). It's location makes it a perfect stop near the Conservatory of Flowers, AIDS Grove, deYoung, etc. Run entirely by the all-volunteer SF Dahlia Society. The dahlia is the official flower of the city of San Francisco. Absolutely worth the effort. Added bonus: It's free and part of a lovely stroll in a scenic part of GG Park.
