I had a wonderful time, and when I visit the Island of Hawai'i again, if Goddess Pele (Mahalo Pele!) allows for ocean lava viewing, I will definitely repeat this! Mahalo to all with Lava Ocean Tours!!!!!
Lava Ocean Tours provided us with an excellent experience in viewing the lava flow into the ocean on the 5 am tour!

Kilauea Volcano (some say Pele) gives the rare chance for an awesome and amazing adventure, while Kalapana Cultural Tours gets you to the unique, close-up elemental experience of witnessing the formation of the Ea...
Since Herbie has been leading lava tours since 1982, he takes the most direct path to the lava flows, although you’ll feel like you’ve just been meandering for 2 hours just to get to the foothills.

Aloha Lava Tours had three separate groups hiking that day and the guides were able to radio each other to make sure each group was seeing the best flows.
One of the very rare tours that still exist in Hilo.

We love eco-friendly tours and my wife especially enjoys horseback riding every chance she can get.
We had an amazing time, and if you are looking for something to do on the Big Island I strongly recommend this beautiful and relaxing tour!

Yes the surf makes it a bump ride, but worth it, once in a life time tour, guides were very knowledgeable.
We took the sunrise tour with the super moon setting behind Kilauea.

There were only 5 people on the tour, and Sean did a great job showing us things on the lava field and more or less leading us on a direct path to the lava breakout.
Becky was leading a guided tour for another couple and she recognized us on her way back (my wife had blue highlights in her hair) - and she helped us find the way for the last quarter mile.

There are some really important things to know before heading out with Volcano Hiking Tours. 1) The website says the hike could be 4-8 miles round trip.
The tour was awesome and Fabienne helped us get really near the lava flows and as safely as possible.

Lava was flowing into the ocean and it was spectacular to see! Had Captain Skosh with about 6 of us so it was a very personalized tour.
You need to book ahead for the tour but do what research you can.

We opted for the 7pm night time tour to get the best glow from the lava!! My little brother, who is in the Navy, opted for the front of the boat.

If you are interested in getting as close as possible to the lava as it enters the ocean, I highly recommend Kalapana Lava Boat Tours!
Ikaika and Andrew gave us an awesome tour of the lava flow!

I would highly recommend them as compared to helicopter or boat tours.
I always felt very safe as our guide (a fireman who had done tons of these tours).

When you book with Hawaiian Lava Boat Tours, you are supporting a native Hawaiian family that has generations and generations of history in the area, that is shared with you during the boat ride.
Amazing to watch the island grow right before your very eyes!!! Thanks again Hawaiian Lava Boat Tours!
