What an absolutely amazing beach, the sand is soft and the ocean is turquoise. The sand dunes are undulating and you may imagine yourself in a desert but also next to the sea. The sea is too rough to swim in but a unique experience to come here and spend the day. Honestly I highly recommend coming here and experiences this beach yourself.

Myself, wife and 14 year old son visited in November on the last weekend before it closed for winter. We really enjoyed ourselves and spent the whole day there. All of the slides are located close to each other which we found was perfect as you can see your child all of the time without leaving the sun beds when your having a rest.

Yes it could do with a touch of paint here and there but this did not stop us having a great time

    We would definitely visit again

With little to do on the island for small children we decided to take the trip to Popcorn Beach just outside of Correlajo.

The road is very dangerous as it's just cut into the countryside with the majority just small stones compacted but there are some tarmac areas on the way. Just beware if not confident driving.

The restaurant on the beach itself has closed down and has been for a while it seems.

The beach is a spectacular place to check out the ocean between Fuerteventura and Lanzarote. Along with the popcorn made rocks which have created this marvel on the island.

Well worth a trip even if just for 30 minutes to take it in.

What a wonderful little market, we came here one Sunday morning for a walk around and it was lovely. Loads of little stalls selling fresh food and trinkets.

Beach days do not get much better than spending time here. Occasionally it does get quite busy but that is the exception rather than the rule, beach bar is available, also sunbeds to hire if you want.

Good evenings and late afternoons here, especially liked Waterfall, the waitress has the most infectious smile and warm personality and its is great place to watch the live music. Gets a little busy later on even in December but still worth visiting for bars, music street acts etc.

Visited Isla Lobos with Noviera Nortours' ferry 'Majoero'. Booked through TripAdvisor and so glad we did. Arrive 20 mins before, the ferry is at the far end of the harbour near where the large Olson cruise ship moors. Relaxed and friendly crew, glass bottom to view the marine life, space on deck or in covered seating area.
We stayed on the island for 3 hrs which was perfect for a bit of sunbathing and snorkeling in the calm waters of the lagoon.
On the return trip we managed to sit on the bow seats and we were warned that we would get wet - that was no understatement! The spray from the bow hitting the waves absolutely soaked us and it was so much fun!!!! I'm sure the Captain was hitting the waves on purpose for the effect! We were all laughing and cheering the whole way back, it was a great way to finish a lovely day. Don't miss a trip to Isla Lobos with these guys.

As an alternative to driving the FV-1 heading to or from Corralejo, I’d recommend going along the coastal route on the FV-104 where there are several opportunities to stop by the roadside and walk on the sand dunes or spend some time on a beach in the Parque Natural Dunas de Corralejo.

There are plenty of beaches to choose from along this stretch however be aware that some are a bit of a hike from the roadside. Playa del Moro does not fall into that category. Just a couple of minutes from the car and you’ll have your feet in the sand.

It’s patrolled by a lifeguard and has gentle sloping sands into the sea but nothing else in the way of facilities so you need to be prepared if you plan to spend much time there. We just strolled the beach and had a paddle in the water. Towards the far end of the beach there are some nice volcanic rock formations which add a bit of interest. Although the road passes nearby, the dunes and the sound of the waves drowned out traffic noise in our experience.
