If you're going from north to south (or south to north) in Lanzarote, the best route is through the mind-boggling winelands, where each vine often has its painstakingly constructed dry stone wall to gather the moisture in the night air (because it doesn't rain here much). We stopped a couple of times, for wines and plates of cheese. It's like no other place on earth, and the wines aren't half bad. Tip- the sweet ones are the best with cheese. You're welcome.
