Excellent historical site to see. My teen boys loved this as well as my husband and myself. The staff inside the Nauticus museum were so polite and engaging. Loved this.

How are flowers not beautiful?!?! Especially during the seasonal shows! This place is peaceful and a great place to visit!

Generously endowed by Walter P. Chrysler Jr., heir to the Chrysler Corporation fortune, the museum is free to everyone. Its 50 galleries hold more than 30,000 pieces of art representing 5,000 years, including Chrysler's private art collection which he donated to the museum in 1971. The building is small but lovely and accessible.

Anytime you get to tour an American battleship it is a good day!

This place is really unique because in addition to a chance to tour the USS Wisconsin you also get access to a multi-level interactive maritime museum and aquarium. The battleship is simply amazing. As a former member of the United States Navy I appreciated the amount of the ship's areas accessible to guests. Typically, with museums like these many areas of the ship are closed to visitors however this tour gives guests access to around 6 decks of the ship. They have done a thorough job of showing guests how sailors live at sea onboard ships.

The museum and aquarium are okay, not bad but not great. However, you 100% get every penny of your money out of the tour of the Wisconsin so the museum and aquarium are just an added bonus.

I highly recommend this place if you are visiting the area with young children, teenagers, or military veterans.

My wife, her two sisters, and I visited the zoo on a chilly late March day. The three main exhibits are for animals from Asia, Africa, and Australia. We really enjoyed the Asia and Africa exhibits, and the setups afforded a number of great viewing opportunities. In particular, in Africa, I got some great pictures of three meerkats enjoying the chilly sunshine. I found the Australian exhibit kind of small.

This is a 45 minute tour of the facilities at Norfolk Nagel Base by motor coach narrated by an active service person.
Upclose, no photos please, of destoyers, aircraft carriers, subs, piers
Great view of the homes on base. Photo opportunities are ok thru most of the tour just not while in restricted areas.

For reference, the tour is at gate 5. We had difficulty finding the tour office and gift shop.

Well worth a few hours. In the Nauticus building adjacent to the battleship Wisconsin, the museum is free and has rotating exhibits. Not huge but we’ll done. Parking available one block away.

Great McArthur artifacts. But the labels connect the stories and make the experience. Plan on at least an hour and a half to really appreciate this wonderful museum.

This is a beautiful little Asian garden that was gifted to Norfolk by Taiwan. Asian foliage surrounds a pond and a short walking path. The restaurant was closed, but its pagoda inspired architecture is beautiful. It will just take a few minutes to walk through and it's worth a look.

Beautiful gardens and grounds! We visited here for a wedding at the site. We didn’t get too see much of the inside of the house, but what we did see was lovely. Don’t expect a serene view of the water m, though - you’re still in Norfolk, so the view is Navy vessels and ship loaders across the water.

I love this mall! It is an absolute splurge to go here! There are so many different stores, boutiques, and places that are not in any other mall in the area. Great food, and parking is very convenient!

The Glass Studio opens at 10 am. View many exotic items made from glass. Stay for the narrated Glass Blowing demonstration at noon daily. Classes open to the public some evenings and weekends. This a FREE venue enjoyed by adults and children.

This is probably not like most reviews of this place. We were just going to take photos of it, collect some sand from the beach for a beach sand collection, and move along. But, suddenly, my wife was desperate for a restroom. Rather than risk trying to find something down the road, she opted to walk out to the pier building to use their restroom. I'm frankly glad she needed a restroom at that moment, because she would not normally have liked walking out there and back, since her stamina levels are not as high as mine. (We are 71 and 70.) I'm glad she needed this place, since I got great photos, and got to actually experience this local delight. It was fascinating, even though neither of us fish!
Plus, I am very grateful that the guy behind the counter didn't charge us for use of the pier. There is a sign that says it's $8.00 for seniors, $11 otherwise, but since we used the restroom, purchased some snacks, and then left, he didn't ask us for payment. Thank you to whoever you were for understanding or need at the time.
By the way, if you do fish, this seems like it would be a fantastic experience, and the beach is beautiful, seems to have a shallow slope from what was seen from people in the water, and the sand is small tan grains.

This park is top notch, easy to get to and so much fun… it was a little pricy, because we had to buy two tickets in order to meet social distancing guidelines, but that didn’t matter…it was so great to Take me out to the ball game again…

This is a beautiful old theater with a great company that performs interesting work well. TIcket prices are reasonable and help to support this nonprofit theater company.
