Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We are from Galway and this has been our 4th Annual trip to the Santa experience at dalkey castle..It’s just magical..They out so much effort into it and make it all about the children..I also had big children with me and also included them it’s definitely a family experience for sure..It’s very reasonably priced and Santa has a lovely chat with each child at the end..Also all the staff are just wonderful and make this day so special and each and every person

We always try to get out to the island on Christmas Day by canoe. December 25th 2024 was amazing weather and perfect for our visit. Recommended.

Ken gets you to Dalkey Island quickly and efficiently. We roamed the island at our leisure and then walked back to the dock area where he promptly came and picked us up for the return trip. Another plus: Ken is friendly and makes you feel welcome.

There are so many wonderful reasons to visit Biddy's cottage, and yet the most important one is simply to meet Biddy herself, who is such a sweet, charming and lovely person. Spending time with her felt like having spent time with a dear friend. Thank you so much Biddy for all your kindness, for being such a gracious host, for the lovely stories, for the amazing food and drinks, and especially for making us feel so welcomed and at home.

What a lovely peaceful place, arriving here from a walk in Dalkey town, seating on the bench and looking at Dalkey Island.
Relax, quiet, peaceful, surrounded by seagulls' sounds

Small Park overlooking Sorrento Terrace and Coliemore Road. The views are simply stunning and you can see from Howth down to the South.

The Muglins Lighthouse looks amazing with the sun rising above it. The sun sits on top as if it’s the light itself. So many different aspects!

Bullock Harbour is truly beautiful and we love walking to it regardless of weather. The nature and natural feeling is always enjoyable.

A nice park to go to on a sunny day. With the best views of Dalkey Island. It is a perfect place for a picnic.

Fantastic grounds and amazing view of the loch. Good walks but map showed coloured arrow walks, but the arrows on the post were name of people, just wandered rather followed a set walk, so probably missed parts of the grounds. Good reason to go back. Castle closed but still impressive from the outside.

The Cats Ladder can be hard to find from the Vico Road. It looks like a private entryway. Great walk up to the top and 238 steps.

This is a totally AMAZING church!
It's already very impressive from the outside, but it is worth arranging a visit inside.
The goth character and the whole decoration is amazing!
    Don't miss it!
