What travellers are saying
- Gabrielle R490 contributionsStunning waterfalls with easy access. To clarify, Sahalie is right off the parking lot with a view from the top. There is a moderate hike between Sahalie and Koosah (less than 2 miles) but it can be steep and slippery so if you aren’t up for the hike, you can also drive to the Koosah lot and get a pretty good peek at Koosah with minimal hiking.Written 7 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BunkyVAKeswick, VA443 contributionsI recommend doing this fun trip counter-clockwise from Sisters. The road up to McKenzie pass has great views and the long string of switchbacks are going down the mountain after the Pass. The road is very good and it is absolutely safe with no scary spots. Certainly, stop at the Observatory. Unfortunately, on that section much of the pine forest has been destroyed by fire, but that’s nature. After the long series of switchbacks, the road all the way back around to Sisters is pretty, but less interesting, except several waterfalls which are worth walking into. The entire trip should take about 4 hours(with stops) and is well worth it. There are NO SERVICES anywhere on the trip, so gas-up and have food and water if needed.Written 2 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - oregontraveler18Madras, OR40 contributionsWe camped here at the Cold Water Cover Campground (a forest service campground, recreation.gov) in campsite #6 in mid-July 2023. This campsite is a pull through and we were able to fit a truck/camper (with the camper removed), our camper van and a BMW sedan on the pavement. It was tight but it worked! The extra vehicles checked in and paid the "Extra Vehicle" fee of $9 per night. The camp hosts this summer are very nice and helpful. The picnic table and fire pit are uphill a little from the driveway, but it was all shade and very pleasant in the hot weather. One of our group found a nice place for a tent up by the table/fire pit area. If you are looking for the trailhead that goes around the lake (5 miles), we found catching it down by the boat ramp (to the right of the boat ramp if looking at the lake), or down past campsite number 1, where there is an guardrail on the road, on the right hand side, either end of the guardrail you can catch the trail. THE SHORTEST way to the Clear Lake Resort, is to go to the left at the guardrail access point, if you are looking at the lake from the campground road. The lake itself is breathtaking. We launched kayaks from the boat ramp in the campground with no problem, but we had to drive them down there because it's too long of a walk from site #6. There is parking down by the boat ramp. We did the trail around the lake, it's pretty long and the campground side has quite a bit of lava rock areas as the trail. The other side very nice forest floor trail. The trail strays away from the lake quite often as well. But I'm glad we did it. We also did the "Waterfall Trail" to see Sahalie and Koosah Falls. We walked from our campsite to the trailhead which is just across the highway when you exit the campground, down the trail to both falls and back. It was 4 miles total roundtrip from our campsite. Uphill on the return. The vault restrooms were fine, the newer kind.Written 27 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Shelly Ann v2 contributionsI am disabled with respiratory difficulties and am mobility challenged, found the trail to the falls easy enough that I was able to make it in and back out with my cane without very much difficulty, only having to stop to catch my breath. Falls are beautiful and managed to shoot several stills of them. Want to try the trip again, in the fall to capture the colorful trees and bushes.Written 1 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kristina W10 contributionsToday I had my first cross country (Nordic) ski lesson at Hoodoo with Beverly, who went above and beyond to make it a wonderful experience.
I learned all the basics, and before I knew it was feeling comfortable on skis and looking forward to future skiing adventures.
Beverly is a fantastic teacher who is patient and kind and very encouraging.
The area we had our lesson in was spectacularly beautiful with an abundance of fresh snow and glorious trees everywhere.
The various well kept runs were perfect for learning this delightful sport.

- AnnSisters_OregonSisters, Oregon61 contributionsNot too difficult and wonderful scenery! A must for outdoor enthusiasts. Mountain bikes are allowed, and dogs on a leash. - Bruce D18 contributionsThis was our third visit, and each time was equally superb. People's tastes vary, so your group will likely not agree on what is best, but no one will deny the quality in each taste. Personally, I find both gins amazing, the bourbon delicious, and the pear vodka is so fresh that it reminded me of my teenage years working in a pear orchard where we would snag ripe pears off of the trees and eat them on the spot. Don't miss the cranberry vodka. It is too tart for some, but it is simply amazing if you like cranberry.Written 16 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Brittany_11_10Los Angeles, CA1,712 contributionsWe started at Three Creeks Trail and went counter clockwise on the Broken Top Loop trail, so I suppose we only came down Tam McArthur Rim Trail as opposed to doing it as an out-and-back, but it was a nice walk and I wouldn't say too difficult. There is some scree hiking--if you choose the west side--(the other side was more of a hard-packed trail), but even then it was okay.
The views along the way are nice, but the views from the top are stunning; definitely try to make it to the top if you can!
You can park at Three Creeks Lake and easily find the trailhead, and from there, the path is easy to follow (minus the one section where you have a choice to take, mentioned above). It's worth it as well to check out No Name Lake, which you'll see from the top if you make it that far.
This trail is fairly exposed, so be sure to wear sunscreen and a hat. Not buggy at all in mid-August. It's a beautiful place to hike.Written 29 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The course was challenging with slopes ranging from 130-128. Play through pine streets, red sand traps and water. The course was in good shape but the greens wer a little slow.
Definitely recomend and would play again.Written 8 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We are fisher people so we were looking forward to float tubing but the wind was just too much. The are plenty of trail heads on the drive up and snow parks.Written 30 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Letty JoWashington28 contributionsAmazing collection of indigenous art and jewelry. LaRita was a pleasure to chat with and her knowledge was extensive. She was happy to show us pieces and let us get a good look, helpful in bringing jewelry out of the locked cases so we could really get a good look and try them on.
We went back again the 2nd day of our visit and were disappointed that LaRita was not in - we didn't feel as welcome with the man that was running the shop that day, sadly.Written 4 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
