What travellers are saying
- skopiCincinnati, OH146 contributionsView was pretty on a gorgeous day.
We were not smart enough to view it at high tide so the punch bowl was empty.
Kids loved walking down to the beach to the south of it and playing on the rocks and waves. The walk back up the steps was A LOT HARDER than the walk down the steps!
Had ice cream at the shop up in the parking area. Servers were nice. Ice cream was okay to good. They gave big portions but I didn't find anything special about my mint chocolate chip.
Parking was difficult but we were fortunate to find a spot as we turned around and someone pulled out.Written 28 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - V KSeattle, WA3 contributionsThe address listed here is for the Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area. It includes one of the lighthouses pictured here and is well-worth the visit. It costs $7 to drive a car in and has plenty of parking. Pass is good for three days. The staff at the interpretive center are friendly and kids can earn a junior ranger badge during their visit. The center includes lots of information about the lighthouse and local animals. The real treasure is the amazing tidepools where you can see wildlife in action! Lots of bird activity for bird watchers--there was even a bald eagle sitting in a tree on the drive out. This was a trip highlight.Written 29 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Ernie SOrange County, CA1,370 contributionsGreat place for a morning stroll. The bayfront has great views of the beautiful harbor and bridge, with lots of small shops and restaurants for browsing.Written 6 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Jeannie DCamarillo, CA466 contributionsWe visited this center on a tour with grandchildren and it was fantastic!
We had a class taught by Justin who was spectacular, and the kids learned about and touched sea creatures not normally seen by kids.
I highly recommend this place and they also had a wonderful small tide pool and museum.Written 19 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Mark THillsboro, OR2,472 contributionsNye beach is great place to enjoy the Oregon coast .very dog and family friendly .the beach is adjacent to a number of shops and restaurantsWritten 14 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Cynthia KWestville, IN2,966 contributionsThis is near the end of the Otter Crest Loop Drive. Very beautiful overlook, with some history. Good signage. Big parking lot. I didn't use the bathroom, but I'm pretty sure there is one.
There's a gift shop that wasn't open on a wed. Steep stairs down to get to it. There was a small overlook there.
You can see 30 miles of coast on a clear day. After our fog problems earlier in the morning, we felt lucky to see anything!Written 29 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Alice WSeattle, WA65 contributionsBeautiful bridge to visit, you can actually get closer from many points. It is very gothic looking, I am impressed. I wish it was a sunny day, visit it in summer if you can. Newport is beautiful by itself, and this bridge is another prove how Oregon rock!Written 10 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- rmps_philomathPhilomath, OR215 contributionsHere with a large party (40+) and the staff did a great job keeping up with requests. I know that all restaurants are struggling with staffing at the moment - but two amazing servers worked well.
I was a little taken back with the food portions. $16 for salmon fish and chips - with three very small pieces of salmon. I guess inflation means deflation... Apart from that - the food was tasty.Written 21 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - michelebarry2Illinois97 contributionsBeen to this pier a couple times now over a few years time. First visit had Sea Lions nearby but that was later in the year. Most recent time in early summer had much smaller population to view and you had to know where to look for them at.Written 18 June 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- billk2345678Reno, NV548 contributionsGood place to check out tide pools and go for a walk at lower tide especially. You can still find agates; it just takes time and patience. We have local friends and they do it.Written 16 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Bookworm10 contributionsWe took a family vacation to the Oregon Coast and stayed in Newport. My son loves anything having to do with pirates so we stopped her while driving around the area. He loved it! It's a fun shop to roam around in for a bit!Written 5 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Cheyb29Salt Lake City, UT140 contributionsIt was super windy on a late August Monday evening, but not the least bit crowded. We were staying in an RV park across the street and found this gem. My daughter had a wonderful time playing in the sand and surf.Written 30 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- LJ1California303 contributionsI’ve done a few glass blowing sessions before at other places but this was definitely the most hands on and fun session I have done. Jeff was an excellent and patient teacher, it was easy to follow his instruction and he let me do most of the work and only jumped in for the more advanced steps in the process. My husband and I had a wonderful time. Picked up our pieces the next day and my finished piece came out beautiful! I highly recommend doing a glass blowing session with Jeff at the Hot Shop when in Newport. You can reserve a session on his website..Written 19 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
