Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Larger than it looks but really interesting once inside. Audio tour was well worth having and explained how the fort staff worked and lived. Good value for money

Beautifully kept, these gardens are absolutely stunning. Lots to see, little waterfalls and ponds with fish in and such. A credit to Felixstowe indeed.

It's a Port! It's in Felixstowe! It has Water, Ships and Cranes to Unload them! What more can I say but, It's a Port!

I Suppose I could add, the Cranes strangely enough make me think of the Fighting Machines in The War of the Worlds!

    It's still a Port!

Nice looking pier from the outside but inside is just an arcade. There is a chip shop and bar on each side but that’s it really.

A fairtrade cup of Earl Grey with lemon in our reusable cups just after 4 on a Sunday. Might sound simple but very hit and miss where this is available. We did not notice any vegan cake but also did not ask so might be available.

What a brilliant museum! There’s loads to look at, it’s very well laid out with kind, interested and helpful volunteer staff. I didn’t know anything about Felixstowe and the surrounding area’s history but it’s really interesting and it’s all in this museum! A tea shop too. Worth a second visit.

This stretch of land by the Martello has numerous play areas for children all just set back slightly from the sea front. There was also a building nearing completion which seemed to be some kind of place to eat and drink which looked like a good addition.

A nice course, well maintained and (at the time we went) not overly busy so able to enjoy ourselves and not feel "rushed". Certainly one of the cheaper ones to visit and admission is very reasonably priced.
    Well worth a visit.

Fun arcades and the kids really enjoyed themselves. A range of machines. Friendly and helpful staff. Was a little tired, but the venue was really clean.

Dropped a star because of the concerns we had about the cleanliness of the ice cream and donut stand... The young person serving us stood on their phone in-between serving customers without washing hands in-between touching phone and serving food!

Part of the attraction for making a 240 miles round day trip is being able to walk along a beach path littered with good old fashioned beach huts, they make the place special and do not obstruct any pedestrians like the fools on bikes do!!! The place would not be the same without the huts so County Council LEAVE THEM ALONE!!!

We found this nature reserve by chance visiting Landguard Fort. It is directly opposite the port of Felixstowe. It is a natural spot left for nature to take its course. There is also a beach. A good spot for a bracing walk

Popped in on Sunday whilst on holiday in Felixstowe, shame the rides of mannings have all gone, but nice to see the site is still used and not left as a derelict site, worth a look and pick up a bargain, being a dog owner did notice the market is very dog friendly and many stalls had water bowls for our canine friends😀

I have been a user of this centre for a long time but it has never improved on the cleanliness and service. I love swimming and some of the classes, but the floors are always dirty in the main hall and are 10 times worse when you go to collect a floor mat - the area in the corner is absolutely awful and you have to wipe the dirt off your feet before starting a class. In the yoga class yesterday all you could feel was the dirt on the floor and this was at 9.15 am!
In the ''health suite' there is always dirt, and hair (which has been wrapped around one of the cubicle feet for months). I think they clean these by hosing down but it needs a proper scrub. You can see the accumulated dirt on the floor tiles and where they need scrubbing as do the wall tiles. The shower caddies are useless. As soon as you put anything on them, they just fall off as they are only loosely attached to the wall and just not up to the job.
It took a long time to get one of the cubicle locks fixed and the other one still doesn't work. There is a cold shower that no one uses and yet this third shower could be so useful at the busiest times of the day.
The health suite showers have always been notorious for either being too hot or taking ages to get hot and this is still the case. I am disgusted that as a member things like this are not resolved despite staff and management being informed several times.

There have also been some technical issues with the temperature of the swimming pool as it was really hot for a while and then freezing cold, then back to hot. I understand there have been some difficulties lately but it does seem that it takes a long time to resolve any issues.

The other issue is to do with the lifeguard staff. As a regular user you get to know the other regulars but also the people who should not be in certain lanes in the morning - they are designated Fast, Medium and Slow for a reason.
For well over a year (or more) there have been people swimming in the fast lane that should not be in there as they are, at best, medium swimmers who should be asked to move. When I have raised this subject with different lifeguards I have had various responses: a shrug of the shoulders; pointing at the medium lane for ME to move rather than the people in question being asked to move; ignored; ridiculed by staff; acknowledgement but no action despite also being asked by other swimmers to move people. Why is it so difficult to stick to dealing with these issues in a timely manner. If staff do not deal with issues consistently then how do you expect the users to be consistent in their behaviour. I have witnessed poor management and low staff morale over the years and I do despair.

On the plus side there are some lovely members of staff but some of the younger staff need to be trained in how to talk to customers in a polite, non-condescending way and to not be rude; and to deal with people who do not follow the rules (that are displayed by yourselves!).
