Our guide Erik and driver Armando made this a great day. We had previously visited Chichen Itza and we liked Tulum more. It’s less crowded, no souvenir vendors allowed onsite, and being situated right on the beautiful ocean cliffs made it special. Erik is very enthusiastic and fun, and he also provides excellent historical and archæological information. We learned a lot!
The cenote swim (bring water shoes, no snorkelling allowed) was amazing. Erik guided us through 3 chambers and provided super descriptive information in each of them! If you’re OK in tight and dark spaces, do not miss this!
Snorkelling in Akumal’s Yal-Ku lagoon (actually an estuary) was lovely. The only downside was that heavy rain the previous day had stirred up the halocline, making it difficult to clearly see anything beyond a medium distance. However, the beautiful weather and scenery and hundreds of colourful fish - and Erik’s guidance - more than made up for that. Excellent experience!
Lunch at the private Punta Venado beach club was quite nice. Food was tasty (although cold due to being pre-made) and the scenery was nice.
Thank you Erik, Armando, and Cancún Adventures!
