What travellers are saying
- Kathy53UsaBloomsburg, PA363 contributionsDefinitely worth seeing if in the Outer Banks. Small visitors' center and the monument is beautiful. FYI-there is a little walk to the top but there is a parking area at the bottom of the monument that is a little closer than the one at the visitors' center.Written 30 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- GiddyUpNGoTravel143 contributionsClean park. Gazebo walk areas are full of sun delights. One gazebo had over 30 turtles swimming at the base. There are exercise areas off to the side of the path. Hawks, butterflies and other animals kept us company on the 0.5 mile walk.Written 16 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Frank MMobile, AL363 contributionsI am working in the area after the storm and had the opportunity to attend services here. The priest is good and takes the time to explain the readings which I've never seen before. The congregation are friendly and made me feel at home. While it may not be the strict traditional Catholic service, it works for me as a visitor and it works for the parishionersWritten 29 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- DannyWassermanVirginia Beach, VA3,927 contributionsThis is a small place, but packs a mighty punch !! We were looking for some information on our trip to the Outer banks area. The people were friendly and the brochures were very helpful. Definitely stop by if you are in the area.Written 7 April 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- willie535Seaford, VA15 contributionsIf you like to get away from the hustle and bustle on the Outer Banks from a while, this is a quiet stroll through as lovely area. Lots of flowers and wind blown trees.Written 12 August 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Nicole WBudd Lake, NJ39 contributionsSpotlessly clean, well stocked with brochures and activities suggestions, and staffed by the absolute most informative and friendly people- we highly recommend this visitor center to anyone coming into the islands!Written 22 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Greg HanoianSeekonk, MA165 contributionsWhat a great experience for my 6 and 8 year olds, my wife and I really enjoyed as well. Aly was our guide and she was amazing. Super knowledgeable and handled the group with ease. Highly recommend as a fun family activity.Written 3 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Melissa GLogan, IA5 contributionsWe did the Roanoke tour and had a great time! Our guide was very knowledgeable and was great at teaching our 12 year old who had never kayaked alone before. Definitely something to check out if you’re in the area!Written 3 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Rene BecerraWarren, PA237 contributionsMy son and I bought some beach wear and towel's for our stay there. The place is nice and clean, the staff very helpful and polite and the prices were fair. Folk's if you need swim wear, t shirts or caps and anything else for during your stay, this is the place to shop.Written 2 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- MariBear63Kitty Hawk, NC13 contributionsThe "bar" is beer and wine only, but thats ok! There were coolers of other choices(soda, water, sports drinks) Dylan and Matt were personable, fun and made the experience well worth it! Family oriented, The game choices were good for ages 5 & older. The equipment in good working condition. You could even have a kids party there! We had a blast with a 5 yr old, 10 yr old and 3 adults!Written 27 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- J David HVirginia Beach, VA1,627 contributionsThis review is primarily for the swimming pool, however I have experienced the golf course and dining room. The pool is not mentioned on other reviews and yelp at one point refused to add it as a category. I see they deleted it again. The main club house is beautiful and newer. Signage is new and on the bypass road.
The pool is around 800 feet or so from the club house. It has nice parking adequate for the size. The lot is well maintained. Using the facility is for members or their guest. I must say guest passes have been a pain. It's been a while since obtaining one.
The pool over the years has been improved. There is a toddler splash pool that has a canopy. The main pool offers a diving board. It's not large enough for competition. Restrooms are off deck and very basic. Guards do a good job of maintaining it and are friendly. Typically two guards are on duty, one watches the main pool, then relieves the other on breaks.
No outside food or drink is permitted other than bottle water. No glass. You can order from the dining room and the food is solid. Service has been slow when busy, so plan ahead.
So now Duck Woods Country Club pool has got some much needed Yelp love. Check into a membership if you enjoy country club life. They also offer two upscale dining rooms, tennis and golf. The locker rooms are very nice and are in the main building.Written 28 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Philip CBoston, MA38 contributionsMy friend and I joined for morning Beach Yoga with Billy in front of the Hilton Garden Inn. Billy was very welcoming and had good vibes. This class is what you make of it and regardless, you get to start your day right next to the ocean. Highly recommend.Written 23 August 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Rachel P7 contributionsStopped in the yarn shop because I like to visit yarn shops on my vacations. This place is amazing! I loved that the pattern was attached to the knitted items and close to the yarn for easy purchasing. A large variety of knitting needles and gadgets. Everyone I spoke to working there was friendly and helpful. Would love to go back there some day with an unlimited bank account. Saw many items I would love to purchase. One of my favorite stops on my vacation.Written 1 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Scott KBlacksburg, VA19 contributionsBikes are in excellent condition and were waiting for us when we arrived. They gladly switched out a full size bike for a junior size for my daughter. Very friendly and helpful. Highly recommendedWritten 8 June 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Traveler179760Ashburn, VA3 contributionsCame down to the Outer Banks for New Years. My back and neck were very tight so I wanted to get a massage I called and they were able to get me in the same day. My massage therapist was Tina. She has very strong hands! I had a 90 minute massage and it was great. I came out with full movement of my neck and very relaxed. I highly recommend this place, and Tina in particular.Written 28 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
