- Kathleen J1 contributionBeautiful place, falls are impressive. Well marked trails with informative signage. Avoid the gift shop as it’s overpriced. Don’t be a chump like I was and buy the $100 mystery bag for $20! The girl said it was guaranteed to be worth at least fifty. No. It was a bunch of crap, inventory which probably didn’t sell. I mean a stuffed Unicorn, plastic jewelry. An extra large men’s shirt, no tags, no logo … looked like it was used out of someone’s closet! Astrology cards… most of it not even good enough to donate. Go see the falls by all means. Avoid the rip off!Written 28 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SandSNYCNYC105 contributionsThe place has changed significantly from last year, a change in licensing rules does not allow them to have most wild animals in their care any more for now. Their work for now is as a refuge for animals whose owners could not take care of any more. There are goats, a large snake and tortoise, several lizards. They also care for two large eagle owls, a Saker falcon and a Magpie Jay. All that complimented by very informative and personal stories by Steve, an avid animal advocate and book author. Very well worth a visit, also after the changes.Written 27 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- juin143Buffalo, NY59 contributionsWe spent multiple days here since it was in walking distance to our place we were staying. It was small but perfect. The playground right on the beach was perfect. We swam, fished, played. There was some live music one night and had a great time listening. Must do!Written 10 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JerseyGirl12155 contributionsNice place to visit, however the price has increased to $40 per guest. Not as much is offered for the admission, stores did not have as much merchandise as previous years. On the upside, this is definitely a nostalgic place for me to visit. Nice to see some money being generated in to the place. Fresh paint jobs on buildings, new name for the dining facility as well as new lighting fixtures. Rides are still the same, no high thrill rides obviously, the train has been repainted, but some of the other rides still need a paint job. Glad they are still in operation as I do have a lot of good memories here, but I’m not sure if it is worth the high prices to visit with less to offer.Written 13 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kim GOuter Banks, NC442 contributionsIt was a great day to take a ride up Whiteface Mountain. Be prepared it's a little pricey, $22 per adult, 65 or older $15. It's a beautiful long ride up, what a beautiful ride, be sure to bring your camera. The plexiglass in the gondola is scraped up from skis but you can still get a couple good shots, however the best are from the top. One side you see lake placid the other is the beautiful mountains and valley. Very picturesque and breathtaking. Great to bring a picnic lunch with picnic tables. Absolutely a must visit. Very enjoyable day.Written 11 August 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TREK39Brooklyn, NY376 contributionsi am not sure why there are two seperate entries for this and Whiteface mountain...as you cant do one without the other. In short... very nice but overpriced.Written 16 July 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Garfield_CatToronto, Canada29 contributionsThe "Hardy Trail II" segment on Strava.com is my favourite mountain bike trail anywhere. Beaver Brook Trail, aka Hardy Rd Trails is a great gem. Lots of people walk the trails too.Written 16 November 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- PaleoGypsyPhiladelphia, PA2,140 contributionsThe Whiteface Visitors Bureau is conveniently located in Wilmington, New York. As many visitors many not get a strong cellular signal in this area, it is a good idea to stop by to review the literature of the area. Otherwise, you may miss out on experiencing some of what the area has to offer. The parking lot is located on the right side of the building. There is a gazebo that allows you to relax and view the West Branch of the Ausable River. There is a short trail that leads to the water. Look for the blue heron. People may be seen fishing on the other side. Brochures of the area are located outside and inside of the building. This is a very nice stop.Written 17 July 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- gammon1Princeton, NJ16 contributionsFollowing my sixtieth birthday, I stayed at The River Stone Retreat for three nights and enjoyed really excellent massages at the Wellness Center. I highly recommend the rental for a personal retreat and the Wellness Center for personal care. Meg is an excellent certified massage therapist with extensive training and sincere care.Written 14 July 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
