On our most recent trip to Las Vegas we decided to walk the 3/4 mile accessible trail at Calico Basin that was closed for renovation during our 2019 vacation. It is any easy walk among spring fed trees and greenery with lots of birds present. The nearby hills offer a stark, but scenic contrast.

Enjoyable experience went to find entrance and bought tickets as we went inside at 7pm. Plenty of staff. No waiting straight through today Friday and were able to have a high roller pod with just another couple. Easy to take photos and sit or stand as we watched the views and sunset behind the mountains. Lights started coming on as we descended. Good time to visit.

Short drive from Las Vegas, highly recommend this drive. The dam and the highway connecting Nevada & Arizona are spectacular. The tour is well worth the money. Recommend driving just past the paid parking for free parking

Walk it up and down once or twice. See the many characters, street artists, the madness of Vegas within a few blocks of walking. Heavy police/security presence. The best and worst of America in under a square mile.

Visited Las Vegas from UK last week and this was one of the top attractions on my to do list. I was on my own for the visit. Absolutely did not disappoint. I would recommend upgrading to RIP tour to get the most out of it - I upgraded last minute before starting the tour and was really pleased that I did - you get loads of extra stuff included on the tour. The guides and security staff bring the narrative to life and are super friendly/helpful. It has to be said, the energy of certain parts of the museum is just mad and for any ghost hunting enthusiasts, it would be a really interesting place and should convert any non-believers! - I’m definitely of the opinion that it’s haunted! (I’d recommend special attention to basement and freak show - both part of RIP tour as that’s where I had personal experiences). Even if you don’t experience anything paranormal, it’s still a creepy and interesting experience and well worth the entrance fee.

Bubble Run fun! We went to the Bubble Run and got to run through the Dale Earnhardt Pavillion. Such a neat place to do a 5k.

Last night I got to tour the Lost Spirits Distillery at Area 15.

It was a pretty cool experience. Definitely different than the other ‘tasting’ experiences I’ve attended before.

It’s described as a “Booze Fantasia” and “The Willy Wonka Of Booze” but while it’s fun and different, those descriptions are a wee bit over the top.

First, it’s their own distilled rum they are serving and they make it on property.

    Nothing else is served.

So if you don’t like rum you’re probably not going to have a good time.

Second, youre given a snifter glass and get 5 1 1/2 oz tastings of their different rums.
If you want more you can get some at their designated bar area for $10.

Tickets are sold with a reserved time for you to enter and are $59 ($49 NV resident/$46.50 military and first responders).

*These tickets do not include their 16 Course Fine Dining Experience. You have to make a separate reservation for that.

The ‘tour’ is good. Dark, low light maze of hallways that are decorated in different whimsical styles. Sort of like a Tim Burton vibe.

The entertainers were pretty good. Kind of like a variety/vaudeville style show in different areas within the halls.

They had burlesque dancers, contortionists, belly dancers, tango dancers, tap dancers, jazz singers.

Then exiting the tour, you enter a room that’s supposed to be a submarine and another room that’s a sitting room with a giant octopus on the wall that looked like something from a James Bond/Spectre meeting room.
(This was probably my favorite room in the place but wish they had more happening in there.)

Check it out if you’re looking for something different to do.

Definitely not the typical stuff on the Strip and the three team founders are really trying to get this experience to the next level.

We had a nice time. It took under 1 hr but was very informative. It was organized well and some neat exhibits to view. Wish it was a bit cheaper.

Definitely for more experienced hikes as there is some climbing with a rope and climbing over big rocks but the end results was beautiful!

We really enjoyed this hike. The rocks are really pretty and there is a great view from the top. You do have to like / be comfortable scrambling on rocks. I would definitely wear hiking boots or some shoes that have good traction. It is a popular hike so you will see other people and you have to make a reservation for the scenic drive if you want to get to the trailhead during regular hours (8-4).

My husband called about 6 weeks ahead of our trip to make reservations. We had serious issues figuring out where to go, since the instructions we were given were: stand by the trunk. The trunk is a 1910 Louis Vuitton steamer trunk, and was very cool, but there was nothing whatsoever to indicate that that particular point of the store was special in any way. Just very weirdly hush-hush and overly subtle.

Once we were retrieved by the hostess, we went through the history/waiver spiel others have described. In our group of six, we all agreed that it was interesting, kind of cool, and extremely awkward as you all just stand there as the various colors wash over you, trying to figure out if you're supposed to just leave on your own, or if there's a specific end point, or what. There is an end point, basically when the colors have cycled all the way around back to the deeper blue that you started with, about 10-15 minutes, the hostess will tell you your time is up, and you can go back and get your shoes.

It is just amazing! Real fun! Two hours of driving on the sand dunes of the deserts. Trevor, Travis and Mike do a great job keeping everybody at high speed!
