Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Sir Wilfred Grenfell was a British medical missionary who spent a lot of time tending to the medical and spiritual needs of the people of Newfoundland and Labrador. I visited the Grenfell Interpretation Centre in St. Anthony and later toured his nearby house. The exhibits include a coach box from the 1930s, used to reach remote communities. It was pulled by dogs. Grenfell was also a writer and an artist. You can see things he designed, such as the Christmas card titled "A Labrador Feast". You can also visit his nearby house, which is now a museum.

Sir Wilfred Grenfell was a British medical missionary who spent a lot of time tending to the medical and spiritual needs of the people of Newfoundland and Labrador. His house was built in 1909-1910 and is now a museum. The visit is self-guided. It was interesting to see his home, but I would not make a special trip to see it.

A must do when visiting St. Anthony. There are 450+ stairs with lots of rest break areas, the view is spectacular. Once on top you can walk the trail to enjoy even more of the Ocean views. FYI no bathroom facility on site, there is one at the top of the hill at the Gift shop / Museum

A very beautiful little town. We paid for a trip in their new hop on hop off bus which doubles as a new town bus when cruise ships are away. Made us feel good to return a favor to this lovely and welcoming community.

Very nice town park with great views of the sea. If you are lucky to be here on a sunny day you can get some good views of the entire landscape. Good place for a hike, but only in good weather.

Still an operational lighthouse. Great views of the bay. Maybe even see a few whales if you are lucky. The nearby trails are also worth a stroll.

This trail is not actually in St. Anthony but in Goose Cove 10km or about 6mi south of St Anthony. We first took this trail in 2018 when everyone was talking about the iceberg in Goose Cove. We had trouble finding a place to park and some enterprising children had a lemonade stand and were doing a brisk business. And there was the iceberg! Now this is a stop we make whenever we visit Newfoundland. The trail is easy--mostly on a boardwalk and leads to a great view of Hare Bay where Dr. Grenfell was adrift on an ice pan. TIP: You can learn more about this by visiting the Grenfell Center in St. Anthony and seeing the film. You can also visit Dr. Grenfell's home in St. Anthony. But back to the trail. It is relatively short--round trip in about half an hour depending on how many times you stop to take photos or just to admire the view. In season we have seen wildflowers along the way and just enjoy the ocean breezes and sounds of the waves crashing against the rocky coast. There is a gazebo that invites you to just unplug and take it all in. So calming. This year again at the end of the trail was a huge iceberg. Some other tourists said they saw a whale blow. It is a magical place and iceberg or no, it is worth the time.

You can connect all the paths on the point and enjoy a half fay walk with a good climb up the stairs to the top of the hill.

Connect this with Whale point trail and the trails in Fishing point park for a good half day outing.
Don't be discouraged by the number of stairs!

We had some time to kill while waiting for the dinner theatre later that day so we drove the Loop. Quiet, pleasantly picturesque views and relatively decent roads. a lovely detour indeed.

The Fishing Point Emporium is a combination visitor information centre, shop, and museum. The small museum has nice displays about the local area and its wildlife, including a polar bear display. You can see a 4-year-old Polar Bear that came from Labrador that was caught at Fishing Point.

We visited Bottom Brook Trails on a sunny September day. There were two entrances marked on the local map. We could not find one. So we went to the other. It was a gravel path which was great with the rain we had the night before. It was a meandering trail though trees, by the bottom brook with ducks and later on a view of the harbour. Some trash (the only time we had seen trash on a trail in Newfoundland) took away from the enjoyment. But overall it was a nice way to spend a half hour.

we hike this trail one evening and found it very difficult in places to file it starts off with a very wide well-defined path to up the point but once you get to the point the trail Peter is out and you really have to use your imagination and detective work to find your way around the loop which is shown on the sign board At the trail head
I hope the town either change is the map of the trail or does a lot of work to complete the loop so that people can find their way
The trail is great and the views are amazing but I don’t recommend it until the trail is more defined unless you stop at the point
