Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were a party of five and none of us had been to Nicaragua before. We got off our cruise ship in February 2020 and decided to do a private tour with Nicaragua Tours Team. Another couple from Switzerland joined our group and we set off on our tour. What a great experience. The driver spoke little or no English but our tour guide was very fluent and knowledgeable. We left it all in his hands as to where to take us and what he thought we needed to see. We had a very enjoyable day, leisurely and saw the highlights of Nicaragua. It was easy to pick this tour up just off the ship and we were more than satisfied. Excellent service all around.

My husband and I had a great time on this excursion with Daniel and Julio from Show Me Nicaragua Tours. Our guides were informative, fun and passionate about Nicaragua! We stopped for photos and to take in the view at Lake Xolotlan, enjoyed quesillos for a mid morning snack, then headed to the ruins of Leon Viejo, which were very interesting. The modern city of Leon has the classic town center with cathedral, which we explored. Throughout the day, we were taking in the sights and sounds of Leon and surroundings. It was a wonderful experience!

Loved using Vamos Travel for this tour! Communication was easy and Max was a great guide. The hike was really nice, the crater was awing, and the sunset views were amazing. They got us sandwiches for dinner and we drank beers at the top. So fun and definitely worth it!

Today we've done the amazing Volcano Boarding Trip at Cerro Negro. Even though it was raining a little bit it was so worth it and super fun. While sliding down the volcano the clouds disappeared and we had a beautiful view. Thank you so much for this fun activity!

My 14 years old son and I had a great time.
Our guide (Freddy) had fluent English and was very professional, informative and nice.
    We felt very safe.
Cerro Negro is beautiful, the hike wasn’t difficult, and we had fun sliding down the hill.
The company’s owner, Franklin, was very responsive and communicative, making it very easy to book the tour.
    Overall a great experience.

We went volcano boarding on Cerro Negro.....it’s a pretty small volcano compared to others....we thought it would be easy. It. Was. Not
The hike up was treacherous ( wear good sturdy hiking shoes ) and very hot ( until close to the top then extremely windy- which felt good but you really had to be careful and mindful of getting g blown off the trails !)
Oh and we ( 3 Ladies in good shape ) could not carry the boards..we paid $1.00 each to the locals to take them up thank GOD.
The sliding down was cool,...it is very much controlled by the way you sit and lean which made it not scary at all. It was a 2 minute slide down . We got videos which was cool,..but at the bottom you had to pick up your board and walk quite a ways in the sand to get to the truck that drives you back to the parking lot.
The lagoon was so so,....the hike DOWN to that was equally as hard as the volcano . Just different terrain ( dirt, tree roots, rocks and sticks and stones ) it took forever to get down there ..the lagoon is beautiful but you really can’t swim in it. We tried.the bottom is very silty and it gets deep as soon as you walk in.
We saw wild horses which was cool also....then the hike back up omg all 3 of us thought we were going to pass out. Very steep and slippery if shoes aren’t excellent for hiking.
Long drive back to Leon where we then had to take the chicken bus back to las penitas. It was a very long day. Be prepared ,!

This was such a great experience. Franklin catered it to our interests and needs, and took us all over to try local food, see mud pits, swim in a secluded lagoon, visit old Leon. We got to see places and had experiences that wouldn't have been feasible on our own. He’s funny, entertaining, and made our time here so meaningful and enjoyable!

I had such an amazing time!! Still speechless...the hike was beautiful and not too exhausting, seeing the sunset and the sunrise from the top of the vulcano the next morning was even more impressive. Our Guides Sam & Norlan were very nice and so well prepared - especially the food was a 10/10 for a Camping trip! Thanks for the nice experience, definitely not my last time camping on a vulcano! :-)
