Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Love seeing Williamston artists exhibited in the gallery. Mark Chatterley and Paul Nilsson have pieces from Art Prize displayed and some great paintings by a variety of artists.

We had a great visit to the Button and bought a wonderful piece by Ronna Alexander who was working in the gallery on the day we visited. It was wonderful to meet the artist and see her technique in action as it's so unusual as she works with wax. Very knowledgable guy running the place - made us feel really welcome.

This is a very tiny beach that you reach by staircase (keep that in mind if someone with you has trouble with stairs). We were told that they beach is usually larger, but due to high lake levels, it wasn't big at all. But we went during the evening, close to sunset. And it was a pretty chilly evening. We pretty much had the beach to ourselves and were also able to snag some parking. I can imagine that on busy days or evenings the parking would be nearly impossible and the beach pretty crowded.

It was cleand and the views were pretty. My boys and I actually liked how small and not crowded it was. It was almost like we had our own private beach that night!

This mall is well run and has many many booths. We enjoyed browsing for quite a while and each found something to purchase.

Mixed Media Gallery was opened on February 14th, 2015 in the charming town of Douglas, Michigan. It features local and state artist at very reasonable prices. The artists are traditional to contemporary to quirky...with some very nice photos of the area. Sometimes overshadowed by a bigger town, (Saugatuck) across the river, Douglas is just as charming. Mixed Media offers some of the States finest Estate Jewelry, and sold by a very knowledgeable merchant...who also offers his own artwork on canvas.

Halloween is a great time to visit...the little town of 300, swells to 4,000 or more, for a ruckus night time Adult parade, which starts at 10:00 PM. It's always my favorite time to go to Douglas.

In the summer, the area offers all kinds of water activities, since it sets on the Kalamazoo River (which forms a lake) and empties into Lake Michigan. Oval Beah is the summertime destination and the Fall Colors are beautiful.

My favorite B&B in the area is The Wickwood, owned by one of the ladies who launched the brand The Silver Palette cookbook series.

My sister and I visited this place for the day while staying in the area. It was such a fun place for us. Amazing art of all types. A staff that makes you feel comfortable and not like you are being spied on. We had wine and the cheeseboard for a light lunch. We then grabbed another glass of wine and finished touring the gallery. We ended our tour with a cup of coffee and split a piece of chocolate lava cake. Definitely a place not to miss.

Looking for pool tables, we were directed here by the local brew pub staff. It was perfect! Friendly staff, 2 pool tables, a long bar and several tables for seating. The small size could have made it a “dive bar” but it was clean, well maintained and cute instead. TV’s played a football game, but there was also a jukebox. Full kitchen, though we didn’t eat. Cheap beer too. Definitely recommend it.

Took a fun three hour sail with Al & Ann out along Lake Michigan’s shores. Afterwards, my wife and I enjoyed a picnic at the beautifully landscaped Safe Harbor marina. And….no problem finding a parking space!
If you plan to book a trip, suggest you have an open day in case they want to reschedule your departure time for smoother sailing.
