Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- BJAATLAtlanta, GA992 contributionsSuper impressive. All kinds of stuff along the way. Check Out Sand Bar and the wineries. They is also a surfing section. - Crazycruiser59Middleton, ID326 contributionsWe had family visiting from California. It was the day before Thanksgiving and it was cold. It was not crowded at all. Our tour guide, Abby, was excellent! She told several stories of the residents. It was very interesting. Abby also was cognizant of our grandson and made sure we were okay as some subjects mentioned death. Walking through the buildings was an experience! There also had a wonderful military museum. I highly recommend this place. Please note the guided tour was $2 additional. Well worth it!Written 28 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Emanuil SSeattle, WA13 contributionsWe stopped in Boise just because it was convenient half-way stop for driving from Yellowstone NP to our home in Seattle.
But - unexpectedly - I learned that Boise looks like a great city, worth separate visit:
- a lot of beautiful parks, including Riverfront Park - great walks
- carefully preserved Old Boise
- very surprisingly in the middle of our country to find, that Boise was for 100++ years (and still is!) a center for Basks community, with well preserved Bask Quarter, small museum and interesting stories.Written 25 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. My wife’s wanted to experience glass blowing for some time now & Boise Art Glass provided the perfect experience. Hands down. We made a vase and a soap dispenser. Awesome! - terrihansonmeadRedwood City, CA125 contributionsWhat a special place and so well done. I highly recommend taking about 2 hours to wander the grounds. The entry is deceiving. It looks small but it keeps going and going including up.
Take time to watch the bees and dragon flies and butterflies flitter around the gardens.
I loved all the sculptures throughout the grounds and the variety of the various sections of the property. It's a very cool use for the old penitentiary property.
Be sure to walk up to the Sacajawea sculpture, either on the pavement or on the dirt path. Enjoy the view from there and a variety of native plants.
The gift shop is small but cute with lots of fun stuff. I'd love to live closer and visit during every season to see what's new and exciting.

- BeckyW1010Flowery Branch, GA232 contributionsWe went up for the day. They have skiing, snow tubing, and people watching! We did the last two! We spent 1.5 hours at Goldrush Tubing. It was an absolute blast. We are all over the age of 50 and had as much fun as kids. They have a people mover so you don’t have to walk back up the hill. I even got to give the Golden a ride down, he loved it. It was a great value at $25. We probably got 6 runs in 1.5 hours. They only allow a certain number of tix sold so it doesn’t get too crowded. The owner wants everyone to have a great time!Written 11 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

Park & parking both wheel chair accessible. Dogs allowed. Restrooms clean. Biking, fishing, boating and swimming not allowed. - Diane ElamColumbia, MO292 contributionsVisiting Freak Alley feels like stepping into a living canvas. The alley stretches for nearly a whole block, making it a must-see spot for art lovers or anyone exploring downtown Boise. The atmosphere is alive with creativity, and each wall tells a unique story, ranging from fantastical creatures to social commentary pieces. The art changes on an annual basis so you are likely to see different art each time you go.
I also recommend that you walk around at least a couple of times!! we did that and I noticed something different each time. You could easily spend a hour just walking around and taking in the art.Written 29 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We got to walk the zoo and view the rose garden from the outside as we didn’t want to drop our Lime bikes. - KCJ44california443 contributionsA beautiful memorial next to the Library!. Take your time to explore, read the quotes on the walls, listen to the stories(audio boxes) and enjoy the sounds of the water feature. There is parking at the Library and a bridge you can walk over next to the memorial.Written 19 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
