This is a very lovely park. It affords you the opportunity to meditate and observe, in silence. Giant spider webs are seen overhead but the spiders minded their own business, as we minded ours. Iguanas are plentiful but they scurry away as we approached. There are many places to sit and the paths are shady. The park in its entirety is wheelchair accessible. We did not go in the two historic houses, which are on-site. Some in our party did not have masks, which are recommended for indoor venues. We went with my mom and she did not want to leave when we did. If it was not such a humid day, we would have stayed much longer than the forty minutes that we did. Pack a lunch and go enjoy this gem in Wilton Manors. Best spot is the pavilion at the back,, by the boat dock.

A pictorial museum for any one interested in medicine, HIV & AIDS, the 1980's to present history and culture, epidemics, or News events. It takes like 2 hours to read everything, but so worth it and so interesting. It's not just a local museum that it is made out to be but really a nation wide reporting as well as some international exhibit. A lot of reading with some pictures. I truly remember almost all of it having lived through this entire era, so it'll be very enlightening for the younger generations.
It puts on a human face to the crisis. From theories to the virus origin, to prescription medications, it's very informative. It's free so remember to make a donation. I'm so glad I stopped to visit. Lovely neighborhood.

Tom sure has his finger on what's hot in the art market. My partner and I are regular visitors to his gallery. Every time we visit he has on display new artwork and all of it current and great. We're saving up so when we can we're going to buy one of those wonderful pieces.
Tom also displays his one work and all of it is terrific.

The crowds on Wilton Drive can wear over time and Island City Park offers a tranquil respite. There are some typical park like attractions such as a full basketball court outside. But if you walk toward the back you will find the tributaries to the inter costal waterways. It is quiet and relaxing.

Excellent production. Do not know how they do it in such a small theater. This play was fantastic! The actors were great, the set and sound were outstanding. This stage is a gem. Find it and you will be hooked. We are lucky to have found it.

Colohatchee Park is an 8.5 acre community park with a seven acre mangrove preserve. The name of the park came from pioneer William Collier who planted an orange grove in the 1890's. The Seminoles liked his oranges and called him Colo which was a shortened form of Collier. The Seminole word for river was Hatchee so Colohatchee means Collier at the River.

The last time I was here, the park was under renovation. It is so nice to see it open. There is a boardwalk from the parking lot that takes you through the mangroves, across the Middle River, and over to the dog park. You have to be registered to use the dog park. There are very few open dog parks any more but it is much safer to have everyone registered.

I am so happy to see that Wilton Manors made it a priority to protect this patch of mangrove. The mangroves filter and clean the water, prevent erosion of the coastline, and provide a habitat and refuge to wildlife. The walk is short and it is nice that a boardwalk was put in here but the most important thing this park does is it improves the health of the Middle River.

This is a gem in Wilson Manors. The patio bar out the back has a beautiful atmosphere with great drinks and plenty of seating. Mood lighting gets you in the mood. Worth a stop for pre-dinner drinks
