Worth an afternoon to step back in time. The museum and gardens have a unique feel to it and there is a lot of history behind the place too. Out back there is a stunning view of Biscayne Bay and lovely gardens to walk around. You can easily spend 2-3 hours in this place. Highly recommend.

For anyone with a free day in Miami, the Frost Museum is a great place to spend the morning or afternoon. I was a bit leary that it may be more of a children's attraction, but it is definitely a great day for all ages. The Frost Museum has both indoor and outdoor exhibits with elevators that take you to 1 of 4 levels with different themes on each; my husband and I visited in the heat of Miami summer (so as you can expect, we melted).

Between the 2nd and 3rd levels is an incredible glass tank of stingrays, sharks, sea turtles, and a variety of fish in which (depending on the level) you can enjoy both from above and below. (see photos). The museum has a variety of other wildlife including birds, freshwater fish, turtles, frogs, snakes, etc. and a plethora of reading material if you come ready to learn as well. The majority of the museum is sure to keep you engaged, but the top level is a very underwhelming garden in which needed a lot of work during our visit.. if you're in a time-crunch, I'd suggest skipping this level.

Be aware -- the Frost Museum is definitely on the pricier side for standard museum prices at $30 / person on top of $15 parking. However, if you're familiar with the downtown Miami area, you may be able to locate a 'pay to park' space within walking distance that will lessen the cost of your day.

Great views of the Miami harbor & beautiful aquarium. Worth the visit! :)

It isn't perfect, but my daughter had a blast. Some elements were not working, and the pricing is a little high, especially for a 19 mo. However, there was something for kids of all ages. We loved the music wing, which was highly interactive. Many of the art activities come at an additional charge. You can easily entertain a kid for hours, so pack accordingly.

This place is SOOOO cool! The museum is super for firearms aficionados. Lots of unique pieces including a full 16” shell and powder bag system for an Iowa class battleship. Many handguns ( old and new) and a cool section on the Miami drug wars back last century. The highlight, though, is the machine gun shooting. Trained firearms range safety officers work with you and then you get to blast away with an assortment of automatic weapons. Awesome!

The Perez Museum features contemporary art emphasizing Latin and Caribbean art. While I am not a great fan of such art, I found the collection a bit limited. There was an current exhibition of contemporary art from Africa which was so-so but the permanent collection was somewhat sparse. Having said that, there were nice Stella and Segal works and an interesting weaving by Igshaan Adams from South Africa. The museum itself , is set in a nice park overlooking the bay in downtown and is quite impressive from the outside. Admission is $16, seniors $12 and parking $15.

We had a BEST DAY EVER FAMILY DAY!! We decided to do the tour and our tour guy Jared was so knowledgeable and guided us on the hiking tour. We were so lucky to have such a great guy for this experience. Because that was what we got a memorable experience.

This venue on Calle Ocho is very friendly. Pablo, the host, goes out his way to share the history of Little Havana to guests. The artwork covering the walls of this bar is beautiful and full of historical significance. The live music was joyful and fun. They serve excellent mojitos.

The History Miami Museum was a nice surprise. It is definitely not one of the most celebrated museums in Miami, but it turned out to be very interesting.

The best part is in the second building, north of the main ones; we spent almost 2 hours there and you can learn a lot about the history of Miami.

I definitely recommend a visit but take your time in the 2nd bldg. to read what you are looking at.

Amazing staff but not enough exhibits for such a large museum. Over all had a wonderful experience. A lot cleaner than the museums back home

Despite the other review posted here, David Castillo is one of the most thoughtful, revered, and respected gallery owners in South Florida. His is one of the few galleries invited to participate in Art Basel, and the artists he represents are all excellent young to mid career contemporary artists who have established careers as well. David's academic pedigree is extremely strong, yet he remains a true gentleman and his opinions and recommendations are taken very seriously by art collectors and enthusiasts. However, persons visiting his gallery expecting it to be some kind of tourist destination (it's not) should know that this is the same kind of first class gallery one could find in any major city around the world.

I know this place gets lots of mixed reviews on various travel websites. However, we got lucky on our stop. We were given a guided tour of this small place by an actual veteran of the Bay of Pigs Battle. Very interesting but tiny place. Worth stopping if you want to learn information and see artefacts that are not in any US history book!

We went there an hour before they close so not many people were there. I find the art exhibits interesting and some quite familiar.
