What an interesting place to walk through. Trees & birds, & fish & weeds & perhaps an alligator or two. Different portions have cement walkways while others have wood. This is a Nature preserve so you are walking through creatures in their natural habitats. You can go everyday & perhaps notice something different. Best to stroll as this is not a place to miss a site.

I love to visit the Everglades but I don't often have the time to travel all the way down to Homestead. Fortunately for me the Loxahatchee Refuge is located a mere thirty minutes from where I live. It's located directly off of 441, about 20 minutes north of Glades Road directly behind Bedner farms which is a great place to grab a snack or drink before you go into the park.

Once you enter there a park service booth to the right. Admission is $10 but usually no one is present to collect the admission. A soon as you pass the booth turn to the right and there you will find the nature visitor center. There is some nice displays and a cute little movie where you sit in a fake air boat and the movie makes you feel like you are zipping through the Everglades. You will also find park rangers and volunteers here to answer any questions you have. The visitor center closes at 4 pm. Right behind the nature center are the bathrooms and the entrance to the Cypress trail which goes through the cypress swamp. The trail is a quick little ten minute walk on an elevated boardwalk. Very pretty. The trail winds around back to the start and when the nature center is open there are some rocking chairs on the back patio to enjoy.

Once you finish the nature center you hop back into the car and drive up to the next parking lot on the left. If it is July it is worth looking into the water on your left side. It's a popular place for alligators to nest and I have seen mom's and babies many times. You just want to give them a wide berth. Once you park you will see a trail to your left that makes a nice circle around the wet prairie habitat ending back at the parking lot. It's an easy twenty minute walk but there is no shade so I like it best in the winter. As you walk you will see many birds. Some that I see often are Anhingas, Great Blue Herons, and Great Egrets. I have also seen alligators and turtles swimming along. There is a small observation platform which gives a nice view of the wet prairie.

A short drive up the road leads to another parking lot on the left where there a covered pavilion that abuts the slough. If you peer over the railing there is usually an alligator or two lounging around. This area provides a beautiful view of the wet prairie. The last time I was there I saw a family feeding the alligators grapes. This was despite a large sign that says do not feed the alligators. The sign also showed a dead alligator that the park rangers had to kill because it had become a nuisance gator from people feeding it. Let's leave the wildlife wild folks.

At the very back of the refuge is the slough habitat. A lot of people bring their boats back here and it's a popular place to fish. There is place here that rents canoes and kayak and you can take the five mile canoe trail that runs through here. I did it once and took several hours. There was no shade which can be brutal. They lily pads also make it difficult to get through the water. The wildlife however was amazing and it made it worthwhile. I saw alligators swimming right next to my canoe as well as many kinds of birds. The canoe place also offers moonlight canoe trips which I have always wanted to take.

In February of every years the friends of Arthur R Marshall Refuge have an Everglades Day. A ton of people come so you have to park offsite and ride a bus. The event has free canoeing, guided nature walks, arts and crafts for the kids, vendors, and food trucks just to name a few things. Last year my friends bought some very nice binoculars which I am seriously thinking of purchasing this year. Although crowded it is a really fun day.

The Everglades is a very important part of the Florida ecosystem. Some changes are being proposed that may threaten the future of the refuge. I wrote this review because I hope more people will come visit and love it as much as I do. If you love it like me, then you will be invested in protecting it too.

I love going here to this market. They have the produce laid out and a lot of it is fresh either from their own farm or nearby farmers. I love the fresh pickles from the barrel in back of the store. They have other events going on outside that are fun for the family. great parking and even the kids will enjoy going here.

The inlet is a nice way to spend some time. It is enjoyable to watch people fishing from the pier, the boats coming and going into the inter coastal, and beach goers enjoying a day at the beach.Parking is free across the street and there are restrooms there as well. The sand is regular tan sand , not like the sand in downtown DelRay, but with out the mobs of people it is relaxing..

We visited in January on a warm, sunny day. There is a small car park with a display board of what visitors may see in the natural area.

The path divides and offers walking a bicycling routes. The easy to understand signs are beyond the understanding of some as the only people we saw on our walk around were two riding bikes on the foot only routes.

Walking quietly and keeping an eye on the underbrush for animal life the walk was leisurely and uninterrupted by sight of wild animal, annoying insect or bird. The only live thing besides plant life was a Zebra Longwing butterfly. I would say there were two except the first sighting was on the way in and the second sighting was on the way out so it may have been the same one!

Never the less, even without seeing wild life the topography and plants were such that it was a fascinating way to see what Florida looked like before it was manicured to look like golf courses interspersed with houses and strip malls.

Well worth an hour or less of your time, though given the scarcity of people don't wander around on your own or at night.

St. Thomas More is a Catholic Church that helps the souls that enter, and those who need help who aren’t able to come. The parishners keep the church looking spiffy, collect food for those in need, provide peaceful areas to contemplate and pray. It has helped me many times over the years. Pastor Harris and Father Vargas minister to all, including Gods little creatures. It is my honor to be a member of this house of God!

Highly recommend visiting! The staff, many of who were members of the family who started this, were quite helpful and informative. We were able to see most of the animals (several were at the farmers market) and were even able pet the kangaroos, otter and sloth. We did pay the extra for the kangaroo and sloth holding and it made our daughter's day, we'd definitely do it again.
We have been visiting family in Boynton for 6+ years (and my in-laws for even longer than that) and we had no idea this place existed, definitely a hidden gem!

Friendly atmosphere. Good selection of brews. I sampled five. Nice variety. I like ales and fruity beers. And stronger beers like stouts. I don't care for IPAs. Food trucks come here at times. Good service.

It’s a boat launch location but also a pretty place to walk along the water, watch the boats and enjoy the sunny weather.

We’ve seen some decline in the past decade that is typical of malls across the country. Boynton Beach might hold out a little longer due to the visitor traffic but outside the theater, there’s not much of a draw.

My wife and I came here with our Bassett hound and sat outside on picnic table. Great place, love the vibes, and most of all the beer. Ample seating both indoors and out with daily food trucks. They even come outside to check on you and get another round or provide water for your pup. Will certainly be coming back soon...

I went to this market for the first time expecting it to be like Rorabecks. It is a much smaller version . I couldn't find anything that stood out to buy. There were plenty in the gardens section if you were interested in the herbs. All in all I left without buying anything & some what dissappointed.
