Great visit. Easy enough ride to the summit. The castle is unique, with an entrance point inside and stairs to the top. The Castle and Park have panoramic 360 degree views. You can see the buildings of Hartford and New Haven as well as a sharp view into New York State. Overall the Castle Craig area is safe, but like with any mountain top park use a little caution.

Hubbard Park is a nice place to relax on a bench and read or walk around the water. We did not hike up to the tower but could see it from the park. We stopped here on our way to another destination in Connecticut. There is plenty of space to spread out.

Giuffrida State Park is located in Meriden, CT. This park was strongly recommended by my friends and it lived up to its billing. When you get to the parking lot you are welcomed with a beautiful view of the Bradley Hubbard reservoir. The trails start from the parking lot. We took the Blue trail along the reservoir and it starts as a flat trail for a bit and slowly the elevation starts to rise but it is manageable. There are some rocks you have to navigate through but the hike is quite enjoyable. I would classify this as a moderate hike. The reward for meandering through the rocks and winding trails is the lookout point. A cool breeze awaits you as you get closer to the edge of the lookout point. You can see downtown New Haven and Ragged mountain from there. An amazing view of the Silver lake is breathtaking. You can continue on the blue trail to complete the 4.6 loop , but we decided to take the red trail on way back. It joins with white and then blue trail back to the parking lot. There are so many other trails that can be explored in this park. This was a time well spent on a perfect weather day. I would strongly recommend this state park. Will be worth your time. Enjoy and stay safe.

really enjoyed the history of the 1920's and the efforts to save and rebuild this home.
it is museum quality with every facet of colonial life displayed. kitchens, textiles formal rooms and 1700's to 1800's.

Im local, i do not wish to discredit the incredible job to put up this beautiful place. But one afternoon this week my first time bringing my daughter for bike ride. Probably, 4-5 people hanging out here i think they are intoxicated which i suspect alcoho. They are harmless on my standard coz i've seen worst on my work but one of them started to scream profanity which i think directed to the BIRDS chirping around him. It sounds hilarious but that time im with my daughter and there are couple of other family with very young kids. Then he started gagging then eventually puke on the bench along the walkway. Such a beautiful place only to be vandalized like this to say the least. I attached pictures

Terrific neighborhood city park. Swings, slides, sandbox, playground, tennis courts, basketball court, baseball/softball/soccer fields. Drinking fountain and restrooms on site. Parking is limited and quite a challenge - particularly on game days. Well-maintained park. Clean. Great place for a picnic. Lots of trees and shade. Free admission. Relaxing, roomy park.
