Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The gardens are beautiful, the facility is first class and the whole thing is well maintained. Worth going to again and again as the seasons change, and for the special events.

The drive up was fun with plenty of wildlife to gawk at. The top is difficult to describe except to say that the views are spectacular.

Very nice aquarium, though smaller than we expected! Great displays! Great hsark and stingray exhibits. Great jelly fish tank! Well worth the cost!

I often struggle to find a good place to run in a city, but the trail provided all the miles I needed and then some! It was great to see so many people out and the split trail so that walkers/runners had their own trail apart from cyclists was fantastic as well!

Estes park to Grand Lake, outstanding dvive. Make sure you check the weather, and check if you need a reserved pass to enter.

I stayed near here when I visited Denver and walked in the park a couple of times. Beautiful park in the middle of the city.

I couldn't figure out the name of the playground itself, so this review is for the main playground and not for City Park itself (which we did really enjoy).

    a. There seem to be multiple playgrounds in City Park in Denver, but I think this one MAY be the largest it has. It is located near the duck pond and a very short walk to the pavillion. There is a pretty good amount of street parking nearby. Seemed pretty safe to me.

    b. The playground is huge and there are A LOT of options for kids to do. There are slides, climbing structures, a merry-go-round looking thing, this bumpy path thing that my son really enjoyed, and even a swing for a wheelchair (never seen that before).

    c. The only thing was that there were A LOT of kids there. It was a challenge to find a table and to not feel space invaded. There were even a couple of kids there that weren’t quite kind to my son and his mother didn’t notice or seem bothered by it. It killed some of the fun of the outing.

    d. Well made park with lots to do. Busy though so expect that if you go (we went around 10-something). And yeah, and in early July it was HOT. There is some shade by the tables, but if I recall, not on/around the play structures. Plan for that.

I felt safe and delighted with the balanced beauty of this park. So many magnificent civic buildings! There was a peaceful demonstration in one corner of the park and I would enjoy myself more without it, but perhaps it is a locally traditional destination for political rallies.
Walking the 16th Street Mall I have passed numerous homeless but none were in the park.

This is a great place to walk around the lake or bike around it on paved nice pathways. It was not too crowded when we visited (twice) while in town...but watch out for duck and geese messes. We were never afraid but there were some people hanging around that did not look like they were there for the exercise or to enjoy the park beauty!

BEWARE: Do not leave your bike unattended or ever in thw REI parking lot. This is a hot spot for bike theft and high end bikes are stolen weekly. If you are from out of town know this is the case and be extra vigilant in protecting your bike. Never leave your bike unattended.

It's a blast to see the city from a unique perspective. The trail follows the river for miles, and it connects to other trails giving endless possibilities for riding. Accessible from just about any point in the city, you'll get a feel for Denver, and there are also some spots with history signs.

We headed north from the downtown area out to the Platte River Trailhead. Once out in the industrial area, you'll find ... ummm... industrial smells. This lasts for a mile or two. And as another reminder you're in an urban area, you'll encounter less fortunate folks living along the river in tents. But that shouldn't stop you from getting on the trail to see the city.

A highlight is Confluence Park which is overlooked by the largest REI store we've ever seen. And we paused to admire the City of Cuernavaca Park .. a gorgeous urban park that leaps across the river.

This well-maintained bike path is a great way to get a sense of this city.

We pulled off the freeway and parked in the lot on the left facing the Buffalo (Bison) Overlook. There were no bison at the time near the parking area, but we did see the bison up above in the trees (maybe 500 to 1,000 feet away). We did not do any trails in the park, but we did drive from this area to Lookout Mountain which has Wild Bill Cody's grave and a great view of Golden, CO and Denver (if it is clear).

It’s pretty obvious that this park with its observatory and other amenities is a very special one. It’s situated in a lovely neighborhood which is walkable and every block has houses worth seeing. Visitors coming to Denver cannot miss by putting any number of parks on their list; Observatory Park and its amazing surroundings should have place near the top.
