The park rangers are so helpful, knowledgeable and friendly, and the Visitor Center is neatly organized, and with some movies and exhibits explaining the history of this area!
The Donner Memorial Park and China Cove Trail is an easy 2.7 mile loop that leads to spectacular views of Donner Lake and en excellent return leg through a wooded area.

Parking was well coordinated and the shuttle system from our car park to mountain base quick, efficient and very friendly bus drivers - at both ends of the day.
There are many trails in the area to see the beauty of Lake Tahoe and enjoy nature.

... the bank in the process, Boreal is for sure the place to go! Awesome mountain that caters to experienced shredders with an awesome park set up, and new people just trying to learn to ride with mellow runs also.

Our family rented a house near Donner Lake and on our first day we took a hike at the Donner Memorial State Park.
Right off of highway 80 next to the Donner park and museum.

It's tucked between Highway 267, the Truckee River, and the sports park - a little hard to see from 267, but easily accessible from the highway, or (by bike!) from the paved Legacy Trail that runs along the Trucke...
The guy who runs it is very passionate over cycling and has really developed a great bike park for all levels.

Everyone we bumped into was very friendly and helped us settle on where to park, where the elevators were for stroller access, and where the check-in counter was when we initially arrived.

... again most of it is smooth sailing and you can avoid going up to Mt Judah and go straight up the PCT to the saddle by Mt Lincoln and further on to Squaw Valley, about 18 mile to Squaw-so park a car over there.
