Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This experience gives a great sense of how tough it was to work in a mine. The tour was given by someone who used to work in the mine. Really enjoyed food and coffee in the cafe after too!

It was nice being able to walk around the castle and see the history. There is work being done on it, but it was open to the public and it was free. The park it is next to has a lovely playground.

Ok... I'm biased, I'm from Roscommon, but a beautiful building is a beautiful building, and this is a beautiful building. You don't have to have religion or faith to admire what is a great piece of architecture.

What a wonderful experience for someone who occasionally smokes a pipe. I will be taking my clay pipe home dipping the end in Brandy and giving it a go. Great historic knowledge by the owner who was more than happy enough to pass it on. All in all a great time had by all, thank you and thoroughly recommend it for adults.

Have always enjoyed any event I have attended here. Find the staff helpful and friendly. A well run centre with a wide choice of events.

Stayed here in my camper van with 3 dogs (Oct 2021). Nice owner, very laid back attitude & friendly (No Gestapo rules about dogs which was refreshing).Nice quiet fellow campers on the small site. Had a great nights peaceful sleep.
I am told washing/toilet facilities are being upgraded this winter 😁
Definitely recommend this place. Cheap for my van €20 for a night 🤙

I was visiting Roscommon to learn more about my ancestors who came to America during the Famine in 1848. I found the staff at the library to be extremely helpful and accommodating. They provided knowledgeable answers to my inquiries and great assistance in locating source documents.

The home of the Rossies, not a great place to visit if you're not into GAA. Despite Roscommon's lack of real success since 1940s they will probably still lift Sam before Mayo.

The attraction is a sculptural memorial. Co. Roscommon was hard hit by the famine of 1840s. Of the places hard hit, Roscommon Workhouse was one of the worst. The Workhouse which still stands behind the sculpture, was built in 1843, to cater for the acute needs of the people of the area. There was a conflict between rate payers who paid for the workhouse and the non-rate-payers who needed the facilities. In December 1847 this workhouse was in £6,000 debt. The average number of occupants was 1,767 people while relief was given to 21,000in soup kitchens.

Blow away by this wonderful old pub, in the heart of Roscommon town, complete with two snugs where 'auld wans' sipped Port on market day. Clare is a great hostess.

Lovely sparkling clean pub and super nice bar man. I learned since that his name is Dermot one of the owners. We were in there on Monday night for a few drinks and I left my coat after me. I messaged the bar and Dermot was back to me in a flash to say he found it. He posted it on to me and iI has it back by Thursday. He would not hear of me refunding the postage. Now that’s what I call excellent customer service. Thanks again Dermot

Excellent place in Roscommon for kids with special needs. It is a safe place and some options to kids explore, enjoy and have a fun. There is no cafe but is possible to buy on shopping nearly there. They accept card and cash, is avaible to make small Kids party.
