Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Best Whiskey Distillery Tour!! Barry is the MAN!! So obliging and knowledgeable can’t fault a thing, we have a 1year old baby with us and he couldn’t do enough for us- his expertise was outstanding and his passion for the brand and whiskey appreciation was second to none!
Highly recommended to go here even if it’s just for a drink it the Stalls Bar(all original) or the tour itself
Beautiful place and great staff- Louise helped us pour our own bottle directly from the cask and she too was great!!
Thanks for the memories guys and we definitely will be back

We’re lucky we have a car and we are doing well muddling along (between the opposite side of the road to usual and the quirky signs). Many things are closed in January but the tourist office in Slane was open. The delightful woman there gave us detailed information about the area (and warned us most things like Slane Castle and the local coffee place were closed) and directions to get up the hill to the Hill of Slane. The view from there is breathtaking. The light when we were there today was inspiring; I could imagine St. Patrick lighting the pascal fire a top the hill. The remaining rocks and headstones don’t seem to mind the intrusion and some locals throwing balls for their enthusiastic dogs was a fun addition. I could have stayed there all morning. Well worth the visit.

Dropped into this small locally run museum and was made feel very welcome by the lady inside. The poets house has been preserved by a committee of local people and the exhibits in the house all help to tell the story.

Lovely house and fantastic facilities. Hot tub, outdoor pizza oven, plenty of space for groups to stay....an amazing place for a holiday or retreat.

Littlewood Forest is a beautiful place for a walk only a couple of minutes drive north of Slane along the N2 in the direction of Collon. The Coillte (Irish Forestry Board) website says the trial is about 2km and should take 40 minutes but to be honest, I took a lot longer as I kept stopping to drink in the peace and listen to the birdsong.
It is a very flat trial with loose chippings, as long as you have comfortable walking shoes or trainers it will be no bother to anyone regardless of fitness levels.
There is a small car park at the entrance by the main N2 and the trial starts and ends from there.
There are not many display boards which is a shame as I'd love to lesarn more about the flora and fauna. Ther eis info on a board in the car par and maybe once of twice along the route but if there is one suggestion I'd have is that there could be more.
It is beautifully kept but not overly manicured as the bushes and trees are left to grow naturally and are not 'gardened' to make them "pretty" or tidy. Littlewood is beautiful for exactly the opposite reason, it is natural.
The forest was originally planted in the 1840's and is a mixture of conifers and broadleaves, it was brought into state ownership in 1963.
It is ideal for an easy, relaxing walk.

Can’t tell you how good an evening in this pub is. John and the rest of the bar staff are legends, kind, funny and attentive. Do yourself a favour

    Local shop for me.
Local service with local suppliers. Always chit chat when you come in and a good pint of Guinness in the Bar. Nothing bad possibly to say

Really enjoyed our four hour trip around Meath with Ronan. He was a great host and he seemed to know everybody and funny stories about everywhere we went. We passed by Newgrange and went for a pint at a lovely old man's pub near Slane. Then onto a cider mill where we saw a man make homemade cider (which tested amazing). 100% recommend this trip.
