Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Janet GSydney, Australia246 contributionsThe Forum in Santiago del Estero used to be the main railway station in the days when trains were the mode of transport. Originally built by the English it stood abandoned long after the railway lines had been torn up for scrap metal and the sleepers recycled as fence posts. Today there isn't much left of the original station which has been turned into a convention centre. There is a stylish well furnished coffee shop inside where, even if you're not waiting for a train, you can get refreshments.Written 4 July 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gene R JSilver Spring, MD9,113 contributionsWe walked 3 blocks southeast to this part old and part new cultural center. Entering at the new part, we passed the 15 ton meteorite to enter the atrium with its active cafe. Here we purchased our 5 AP each ticket and entered the museum at the display of artful ovens. After taking the elevator to the 3rd floor, we walked through the Modern Art Museum, descended to the 2nd floor Anthropology Museum with its Stegomastodon, then artifacts from the area's 1st culture back to 6,000 BC, pottery to 800 AD, then Jesuit(native carved stone), Revolutionary(gun collection), Governmental(Governor Rooms), and descended to the 1st floor Modern(musical instruments and buildings) Period. We spent 1 hour and could have spent longer in this wonderful Provincial museum.Written 8 March 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - yulitangoSt. Petersburg, Russia5 contributionsWhen I came to Argentina, first that I discovered was tango of Buenos Aires. Later I continued with places and dances. The advice was: the best zamba dance in Salta, the best chacarera- in Santiago del Estero. The last thing was little bit difficult because of climate, very hot in summer. Finally I came there, in the beginning of January 2019, to festival of chacarera; and I was so lucky that it was after a storm. So the air became nice, and I could survive till Sunday when I visited the Patio del Indio Froilan, the place that representates this town.
It´s owner is a famouse craftsman that is making ¨bombos¨ - a national instrument, some similar a drum, that people play when they dance their folk dances, o sing the folk songs. This patio, what means a yard, is very green and nice, full of trees of this zone, that give a lot of shadow. You can seat down them, at the table, and taste the regional food, that they are selling there, enjoying a concert of a folk music(every Sunday). If you want, you can participate in dancing. While I was watching, they called out all who were for the first time in Patio, and everyone said where from he was etc, and then all of them danced. I didn´t join, for shying, but when I was already going out, one man asked me, where I am from. So, he guided me to his table, we had a nice talk with all his friends, then we danced a little, and he presented me to the owner and we took a foto all together. I spent such a nice day, and I felt myself very happy.Written 4 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Built to house in air conditioned comfort the elite few, the twin towers have developed an inclination of late, attributed in all probability to the fact that the building is on sand and the water table is only three meters below. In years to come it may rival the leaning tower of Pisa as a tourist destination and really put this struggling city "on the map".Written 7 July 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Antosch Kie68 contributionsbeautiful cathedral located directly at the plaza.
The walls are quite impressive, something different than the average paintings in churches. It´s worth a look!Written 11 April 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Small but quaint with a rather humble decor, it's a good part of a walking tour of the city, just a few blocks down the street from the main cathedral on 24 Septiembre street.Written 24 December 2013This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Antosch Kie68 contributionsonly few people know that you can also visit the Casa del Gobierno, which is quite interesting! Just ask the employees inside, when the "ceremonial guide" is available, he will show you aroung and tell you some interesting facts. He did it just for me and although there isn't that much too see, it gives you an interesting insight.
