I was only in Costa Rica for three days but I had to visit Tortuga Island and I'm so glad I found Bay Island Cruises. The tour does not run on Mondays, however, it was the only day I had availability and I was so lucky they were able to accommodate. The food was good and our guide, Abdul, was incredibly friendly and helpful during the whole trip. We didn't get to snorkel due to water conditions but they offered other activities to replace snorkeling which were lots of fun. Definitely recommend!

We took a tour to La Paz with Carolina. She was an excellent guide! On the way there, she told us about the country and different things we were seeing along the way. She was very knowledgeable about the animals and the waterfalls. She answered all of our questions and was very friendly the entire trip. La Paz Waterfalls was a beautiful place, and she just made it all the more enjoyable! I would definitely recommend her for any tour!

My cousin and I recently had a short stay in San Jose, We chose this tour and had a MARVELOUS experience with our guide Giovanni. He arrived on time to pick us up from our hotel. From the hotel we headed up to the Volcano- before reaching our destination we stopped at this beautiful coffee shop that had some of the BEST coffee I've ever drank! The cafe overlooked a magnificent coffee farm. Next we stopped at La Paz waterfall and then onto Volcan Paos- the scenes were SPECTACULAR. Giovanni was the PERFECT tour guide! He was extremely personable and I felt like everyone knew him and the tour was very personal and friendly...Giovanni even got the owner Mariella of a local restaurant to create a beautiful fruit boquet for my cousin celebrating her birthday- it was TRULY a perfect day with a perfect guide!! Some things to note...the tour was filled with activity- there was minimal walking and was good for those that are in good shape but you dont need to be super fit- the roads are narrow and EVERYONE in San Jose drives agressively.

Giovanni, our guide, was awesome! He was very knowledgeable and patient. It was just the two of us on the tour so we definitely had a VIP experience! I loved the visit to the three generation coffee farm and shop. We drank coffee on a balcony while overlooking the vista of the coffee farm. It was a breathtaking view. Then we headed to the Paos Volcano. I would have wished for more time to hike the trails but we were not able to stay more than 20 minutes because of COVID protocol. Lastly we headed to La Paz waterfall and gardens. I was surprised to see animals on the grounds. The big cats, like the cougar and jaguar should not be caged. They belong in the wild However, the waterfall and gardens were stunning!

This trip was with the guide Fernando. It was by far much more involved than I expected. He was very prepared, and we learned a lot about Costa Rica. Of all the trips I've taken, he put the most energy into talking to our group and explaining things. We learned about exports, and were able to sample seasonal fruit at a fruit stand. That experience will stick with me, because everything I tried was so flavorful, unlike produce we have in the USA. I wasn't interested in fruit stands before, because I didn't realize how good it all was supposed to actually taste. The monkey stop was quite a treat as well. It was nice having a local guide in Monteverde. We saw so many animals that I probably would have otherwise missed.

I am an avid Starbucks lover. We actually chose Costa Rica to specifically visit the Starbucks Farm and it was Beautiful!! We learned so much about the process of farming coffee. We had Karol as our guide. She was Amazing, friendly and So informative!! We lightly mentioned we were On Our 15 year wedding anniversary and when we got to the end for the tasting she had a plate of strawberries and chocolate for us to celebrate 15 years!! Super friendly staff, clean, beautiful establishment and VERY informative!!

If you love coffee in general this is a great tour!!

Our Clients weren't given the fully paid tour (no coffee tour included as advertised and prepaid for) just a quick stop at the gift shop. No one answers the phone or even bothers to find a solution or to apologize. How disappointing giving such a service just starting again with tourism. As an agency I won't book them again. NOT RECOMMENDED!!

Our guide was Manuel B.—very friendly and kind soul. We improvised a bit since my husband and I had come in on a red eye and were exhausted: we needed a low-key day and we’re planning to stay in Monteverde rather than returning back to San Jose. We went on backroads to avoid traffic and drove past smaller towns and hillsides as we asked him more about what it was like to live here, and learned more about Costa Rica culture. Our first stop was to Puntarenas to see the ocean and cool our feet in the water. He found us some coconuts and we had a refreshing drink before driving up to Monteverde. Here we had a wonderful leisurely meal at the Open Kitchen cafe and went to the beautiful and charming Butterfly refuge. Wanting to get back to the hotel for dinner, we made a last stop at the coffee shop at the Monteverde cloud forest preserve. We sat on the porch at the café and listened to and watched multiple hummingbirds feeding. So peaceful and thrilling for us. Bird sounds filled the air. Then back to our hotel. Lovely personalized day! Manuel is a genuine and generous person and we glad to have met him. Wonderful experience!

The best part of our journey was the flexibility and friendly attitude of the driver. We rented the shuttle for a week and we traveled as far as Uvita to check the Park Bahia Ballena. Awesome places, good local food and local hang outs. The driver became our guide and took excellent care of us. I recommend this company because they were easy to talk to, great price for the whole week, the driver was one of the guys and made us feel like locals. We will come back again in the near future. We have lots of places to check out.

We did transfers both from the Airport to Manuel Antonio and back. They were with Victor and Alex, respectively. I was thoroughly impressed with their professionalism, English-speaking abilities as well as the comfort level of the transfer. Both drivers were very pleasant and able to speak with us in both English and Spanish. They talked if we wished or were quiet if we wished (it is a three-hour drive). They offered us cold water and the ability to stop for bathroom breaks and snacks. Both vans had air conditioning and the drivers drove safely on the well-paved roads to and fro. I highly recommend the company!
