Amazing UNESCO historical and heritage sites, the old SIAM capital captures our imagination to travel back in time to a majestic, inspiring, AWESOME era in this Ancient City of Ruins.
These are so much older and amazing to think how they have withstood so much over the centuries from weather to war to fire, etc. Truly awesome to think of the history contained within this site.

A highlight among the historic sights, the 3 central stupas make for dramatic photos (wide-angle lenses or panoramic setting on your phone recommended).
The Ayutthaya heritage site is an hour north of Bangkok, was the original Thai capital, and is an excellent day trip—but I highly recommend at least two full days here.

Complimentary coffee and tea were also served on the top deck after the meal allowing for unobstructed views/photos of Thai riverside homes, fishermen and ever more incredible shrines and temples.
Upon arrival, we hired a tuk-tuk at the train station to drive us to the ruins of temples, shrines, sacred sites, monuments and historical landmarks, wherever we could go in 3 hours.

Temple of the Royal Restoration (Wat Ratchaburana)
#8 of 47 Sights & Landmarks in Ayutthaya
The view and photo opportunities are great; the entrance and the stairs to the tomb are a challenge and very claustrophobic, but the murals in the tomb is fantastic.
Some of the stories are rather sad, but the walks and the sights give you some wonderful memories and the pictures you take will all be wonderful.
