The Parque is quiet and well maintained. The grandkids and we liked the replica of the ship. They also enjoyed riding on the swan boats and the tram.
Outside has several shops for refreshments.
    Restrooms were clean.
Nice for walking or running on the paths.

We at at Santa Terezinha and it was good. The store is very interesting with many food and decor options. Brazilian Chopp is cold and good.
Restaurant was crowded on a Friday evening.

Great place for Roman Catholics to pray. Please pay attention for the Sanctuary opening hours and other church services. It is in walking distance - about 1 mile to the Rio Hotel by Bourbon Campinas , a brand new Hotel with great service.

This well-maintaned church at the heart of downtown attracts masses for the daytime services.
Jacaranda prevails inside and the acoustics is simply great.

The Capricórnio Sky observatory (near the Capricorn Tropic Line) is located at the highest point in Campinas and surroundings, a the border with neighbor city Morungaba. It can be reached from either city and part of the access is a dirty road (on both sides).
The facility is easy to reach and astronomic events can bee observed there.
It's very cold out there, specially in clear nights, so take your "countermeasures".
Parking is available an the entrance fee, symbolic.
It's worth the trip, although the opening times very restrict.
    Call before you go.

Quite a large green area amidst downtown and modern buildings aimed at families with kids but also at whomever wants to breathe some fresh air in nature - masks are mandatory in Campinas still, as a reminder!
There's a small zoo and two museums, only open on weekdays.

Free Tours! Bring your passport (they accepted my driver's license). They provided a wheelchair for our father. At lunchtime (12:30 pm) they do military drills before they eat, so start it around 11:30 am. It's a beautiful walking tour around the plaza. My Brazilian family's reaction to the outing was, at first skeptical, then curious and in the end, totally impressed. This was the first year the school admitted female cadets.

A very scenic road leads to this nice green area near Campinas. The drive itself is already an attraction, but once you get there you can choose to explore the area by foot, bike or motorcycle. The downside is that not all visitors are conscious and you will see some trash thrown in the woods.

I love markets, as they tell a lot about a society. This Market Hall is fairly big and you find pretty much everything for daily needs. Butchers, Fish stands, fruits and vegetables, leather goods you name it.
What I found quite disturbing were the stands selling folding knifes that also had coshs on display (... these things are illegal pretty much anywhere else). Around the maket Hall you find African-Brazilian stores and also places where you’d find counterfeit Football shirts etc.

It's an old and deactivated quarry that was transformed in a park and a venue for open air events. They have some concerts there once in a while.

Its official name is "Praça Ulisses Guimarães", but everybody calls is "Pedreira do Chapadão" (Chapadão's quarry, "Chapadão" being the name of the neighborhood.)

There's not much to do besides walking. It's a pleasant walk, though. Good to bring kids of any age. There is some playground equipment like swings, slides and seesaws.

There's an ice cream shop in the park and a couple of other places to eat and drink across the street.

Nice church to visit, and one of the preferred palces for wedings cerimonies on town. Worth while attending one of this, just to see church decor and how luxury a wedding can be.

Nice and modern church at Taquaral. Recommended for Sunday mass services and dedicated to young kids.

Several events are holding at the church premisses in specific dates.
