The best way to experience it up close and without traffic is to take one of the bay trips that leave from the Marina in Gloria. It's a pretty impressive bridge!

Walked along here a couple of weeks ago with my partner and our 12 year old. The artwork is certainly impressive and photo worthy! I would not go out of my way to have travelled here, but, if you are in the area then do have a look.

This 780m-cable-stayed bridge has a distinctive shape of pylon that resembles a lady’s leg. It links the Federal University on Cidade Universitária (College City) at Ilha do Fundão (Backyard Island) and the Red Line, one of Rio’s most important motorways. I saw it on my way to Petropolis and also to Galeao A C Jobim International Airport.
