    Magnificent.

I suggest to go with the little train and book online at least the day before to avoid surprises. Do not go with bad weather, it would be a waste.

The view of Rio is Beautiful and the monument fantastic. I don't give 5 stars because it's not short-breadthening like pyramids of Giza or the Coliseum in Rome, but it's close. :)

The famous poet Carlos Drummon de Andrade symbolize the life style of "carioca": sitting in the sidewalk, watching the life and the people passing by. Take your picture with him, it is iconic and unforgettable nice to be in Copacabana with this personality. Lovable.

Tom Jobim is regarded as the father of bossa nova. He wrote the music for The Girl from Ipanema at a restaurant in Ipanema.

This is just one of many statues you will find on the beaches of Rio usually associated with musicians or writers. This one is located where Arpoador beach begins and Ipanema beach ends.

A good spot to take photos and learn something about the subject.

The statue is located by the beach in Urca, Praia Vermelha. It is a wonderful little place to hang out, by the feet of Sugar Loaf Mountain

We passed it walking along the beach but had no idea about the man or why there is a statue of him. Nothing special.

If you are walking by you can take a picture but it is not worth going there for the statue. We happened by.

As we were staying at the Hilton hotel. This statue was right outside of the hotel on a roundabout on a busy road junction so we would see it regularly.

There is a pedestrian crossing behind it if you want to have a closer look.

It is an elegant enough statute so it is worth taking a few pictures of it. Princess Isabel signed the law regarding the abolition of slavery in Brazil.

Statue tribute to Ayrton Senna, a great mam from the F1 community. Statue has not weathered particularly well and the colours of the Brazilian flag niw quite faded. Easy to find opposite the Copacabana Palace Hotel.

Rio has an obelisk but it might not be as grand than the one in London or Paris.

We came across this on the Walking Tour and could see it down the road.

It was erected in 1906 by a construction mogul.
