    Magnificent.

I suggest to go with the little train and book online at least the day before to avoid surprises. Do not go with bad weather, it would be a waste.

The view of Rio is Beautiful and the monument fantastic. I don't give 5 stars because it's not short-breadthening like pyramids of Giza or the Coliseum in Rome, but it's close. :)

You have two options to get to the top of the Urca Hill. The traditional is by the cable car, but you can also take the easy trail thta starts somewhere in the middle of Claudio Coutinho´s walk (it begins at the left side of the beach).
There you will find some options of food and snacks.
With some luck, you will see planes landing on the Santos Dummont airport maneuvering just a couple of hundreds meters in from of you. (also is a nice experience to get on one of these flights)

We decided to go the aquarium on a holiday. It was so crowded!
But walked thru the tunnel under the water was very exciting!
Kids there were very happy and we ended up having a good time too.
If you have time and kids, definitely have to go there.

Ok, it does get a bit crowded here, so trying to get photos without other tourists in is a bit difficult, but, what a beautiful place. I loved the colours and the overall effect of the tiles. I enjoyed looking at the different tiles and what they depicted and represented and, yes, with a little bit of patience (and I was in no rush - after all I was on holiday) I did manage to get some good photos. If you are in Rio you really can't miss this out.

A tour of ancient Jerusalem, a well-designed model, rich in detail and having your own very friendly and knowledgeable local guide to history, this place is worth visiting, it exudes incredible peace and learning.

After learning the history of this place I thought it so apt that it is now used as a cultural centre. It must have been beautiful in its heyday. Would love to visit when there is something on. The views from the top of the house are spectacular with a different twist on Rio than some of the other sights.

Free to enter and ramble around. Worth a look if you are in this neighbourhood.

Fun to see the local produce, sweets, meat etc. Many small stalls with all sorts of items and a good many restaurants. We ate at one and enjoyed it. There was a band and people dancing.

I really like this place! My boyfriend and I live in Rio but at least twice a year we spend a weekend there, specially because of the view. We wake up very early to see the sunrise... it’s gorgeous!

Maua Square is the one of the most beuatiful and walkable public spaces in Rio de Janeiro. Is a perfect place to take photos at the sunset, sit on the grass, or simply admire the landscape. Here you also can visit great museums like Museu do Amanhã and Museu de Arte do Rio.
The square is part of the Porto Maravilha, a project who revitalized Rio's downtown.

I actually didn't pass through here on foot. I took a cable car from the center of the city to a place called Santa Teresa and it was very cool. I walked around the area but I did feel uncomfortable when I came closer to a Favela.... I hope though one day I can visit a favela.

I went to a restaurant called Explorer Bar, the drinks were amazing.

Located between Ipanema beach and Copacabana Fort.

You can get on top of this rocky mount to view the shoreline of Rio or watch the sunset.

We arrived in the afternoon and noted it was popular with a younger crowd.

This is where every Sunday at 11am a group plays chorinhos, a music related to but preceding Bossa Nova. It lasts at least 2 hours. People come and go, some people dance samba, and there is a market for browsing. Mostly Brazilians go there. It seems save but follow usual precautions. After the chorinhos there is at times a group singing songs from the northeast of Brazil with only batucada (various drums). This visit will make you happy, if you like Brazilian music!!

Walked along here a couple of weeks ago with my partner and our 12 year old. The artwork is certainly impressive and photo worthy! I would not go out of my way to have travelled here, but, if you are in the area then do have a look.
