Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- S L6 contributionsThe hike was nothing special. It‘s rough.
Good shoes are needed.
But the view at the end was amazing!
Get sure also have warm clothes with you. During the night and in the morning it‘s cold.

The trail there is pretty steep. There is a way to enter the water in multiple spots. The water was very cold. The owners of this property planted a lot of beautiful plants at the beginning of the trail.Written 16 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RudySzymonChicago, IL1,666 contributionsWe only paid for butterfly experience. Our guide spent with us about 20 minutes explaining the life cycles of butterflies. There are a few species living in that area. Also, you can see emerging butterflies from their cocoons, especially in the morning.Written 16 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The surroundings are spectacular, what an experience to be in that environment amidst the working coffee farm. The room was simple and very comfortable. The rooms are not large, yet with 4 people in our room we never wanted for space. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and we appreciated that they cleaned and remade the beds during our stay --We were not expecting that. The hot water was plentiful (they will let you know to run it a few minutes allowing for the water to get hot).
The entire place is so inviting and its an opportunity to relax, unwind, and enjoy the surrounding beauty. We went on wonderful hikes on the property and the bird sightings are plentiful. We took the coffee tour, led by Gabriel, and it was great. He was very informative and the cofe is excellent! The food was delicious and we really appreciated our waiter, Teddy/Rosevelt's friendly conversation.Written 15 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The hostess, Elizabeth, is great and a font of info. many of the recipes are handed down from the original indigenous tribal Indians. Enjoy some breathtaking views from the Jarmillo side of Boquete.Written 1 June 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - johan ONew York City, NY7 contributionsThe beers at this establishment are decent, not exceptional, but the real standout is the ambiance. It exudes a fantastic atmosphere that draws in locals and tourists alike. The fact that many patrons speak English makes it an ideal spot for socializing and meeting new people. However, it's worth noting that the noise level can be quite high, which may hinder meaningful conversations. Moreover, due to its popularity, the place tends to get crowded, resulting in frustratingly slow service.Written 21 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jennifer B18 contributionsWe had a great couple of hours here. The plants and flowers were beautiful, saw so many birds. The children (10 &7) were kept amused by all the quirky models, statues, freaky faces. The thing they loved most though, was on the second trail, where there is some children's play equipment, including swings with really long ropes. We couldn't drag them off. Add to that some very friendly dogs who walked round some of the route with us, and it was good for all of us. The admission fee wasn't as advertised though, as it said $5 for adults and $3 for under 10s but the children were charged full price. We couldn't be bothered to argue for that amount so just paid up.Written 11 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Terry Lou BMedicine Hat, Canada65 contributionsThis is an easy, relatively short hike with views of agricultural fields as well as cloud forest. Beautiful flowers along the way also. The waterfall at hike's end is spectacular. We very much enjoyed this experience.Written 26 October 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Traveler3 contributionsTo quote our 8 yer old “OMG that was amazing!” — a few hours earlier she had been terrified by the idea of riding horses. Our whole family of four (girls 8 and 10) had an unforgettable afternoon. The connection between Franklin and the horses was magical and put everyone at ease. We took a tranquil 2 hour loop through farmland and the girls both had a chance to try galloping. Highly recommended!Written 2 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Daly BOttawa, Canada6 contributionsSo informative, interactive, interesting and delicious! Well worth the visit. We came away with boxes of chocolates we’d made, using our favourite type of chocolate and toppings. We choose our moulds, decorated them with shimmer and put in beautiful boxes! Perfect for gifting!!Written 17 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Cindy N1 contributionI joined a large group of international people who, like me, were interested in getting to know The Republic of Panama. What an awesome, weeklong tour hosted by Jackie Lange (owner) and guided by outstanding instructors, Chuck and Debbie. The program was designed to deliver a wealth of information while giving us first hand experience about the culture, food, festivities, beaches, hotels, legal system, housing plus lots more. I am now able to make a much more informed decision about how I will integrate into Panama. It is a tour that I highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit Panama. You will be delighted if you take the tour.Written 27 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Janet DJackson, TN252 contributionsWe did three tours with Boquete Outdoor Adventures. The employees were thoroughly professional and well informed. Jaime was our guide on the Pipeline Trail and to the Lost Waterfalls. The man has a wealth of information about the flora and fauna of the region, along with the ability to walk on a trail while looking in the treetops without falling down. My significant other and I agreed that we wouldn't have seen a tenth of what there was to observe without Jaime there to locate and point out wildlife and plants.
Pipeline Trail: Easy. Wildlife. Old-growth trees. Very busy.
Lost Waterfalls: Moderate. Lots of stairs. Some steep climbs. Muddy. Moderately busy. Three waterfalls.
Our third tour was the Island Tour, which took us to a national park in the Gulf of Chiriquí. Ed was our guide that day. We enjoyed the boat ride with Ed pointing out sights along the way, including howler monkeys. Then there was swimming, snorkeling, and paddle boarding from a beach, as well as a lunch featuring, among other things, an array of delicious fresh fruits.
A guide can make or break your tour. Jaime and Ed did an awesome job.Written 22 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The walk was fairly steep up and down but that made the experience even more rewarding.
Our guide Ingrid gave us excellent descriptions of everything, plants and birds and showed us photos on her phone when the actual birds weren’t present. It was a bit wet but then this was the cloud forest. Excellent experience not to be missed when in Boquete.Written 31 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
