- mirkhorPort Moresby, Papua New Guinea41 contributionsJohor Bahru City Square offers a wonderful shopping experience, conveniently located just a short walk from Holiday Inn Express and Suites. Visiting during Independence Weekend was a treat, as many shops had enticing specials and discounts. I enjoyed browsing through a variety of stores, from fashion to electronics, and found some fantastic bargains to take home. The vibrant atmosphere, filled with families and friends, made my visit even more enjoyable. With its lively ambiance and diverse shopping options, City Square is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience the best of JB. Highly recommended!Written 23 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Anand1351Singapore, Singapore3,790 contributionsA mall conveniently located not far from checkpoint and many buses actually come direct from Singapore to KSL.
Numerous restaurants shops salons massage parlours pharmacy and you name it in and around KSL next to massive KSL hotel.

- MerryheartSingapore, Singapore7,705 contributionsExploring Johor Bahru's Southkey Mall was quite an adventure. This sprawling complex is a blend of elegance and modernity, housing an array of mid to high-end brands. The mall's spaciousness and bright ambiance made for a pleasant shopping experience, with plenty of room to explore without feeling crowded.
Dining options are plentiful, with numerous restaurants spread across the basement, third, and fourth floors. Whether you're craving local delicacies or international cuisine, there's something to satisfy every palate.
A highlight of my visit was the Village Grocer supermarket. It stood out with its selection of local and imported products, though at a slightly higher price point compared to typical supermarkets. The variety and quality of goods on offer were impressive, catering to those looking for premium groceries.
One of the conveniences of Southkey Mall is its direct link to the St. Giles Hotel. This seamless connection is a boon for hotel guests, providing easy access to the mall's amenities without the need to step outside. Overall, Southkey Mall offers a delightful blend of shopping, dining, and convenience, making it a must-visit destination in Johor Bahru.Written 30 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We visited on a weekday and it was very pleasant to dine and shop. It’s spacious and has the shops similar to Mid Valley.Written 9 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AFAK25Jeddah, Saudi Arabia4,498 contributionsUsed to live in JB 2 decades ago and Kemayan City was a famous landmark then, for the wrong reasons. Then WCT came into the picture, reviving the abandoned project.
This was my first time in the rejuvenated mall and I was surprised the whole place was lively despite it was just early Friday morning. Lots of shops and restaurants on all floors. All the famous retail brands have a presence there. There's even an ice skating rink.
Parking wasn't expensive. I can't remember how long I was in the mall but I paid only RM3.30.Written 10 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There are some great sculptures and the water fountain that is choreographed to various songs is mesmerising.Written 8 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SOH KIEN PENGSingapore, Singapore9,537 contributionsI visited KSL Mall on Monday. The Pasar Malam sets up every Monday in front of KSL from 4 pm to 9 pm. Quite a long stretch of makeshift stalls along Jalan Seladang. Bus F100 pick-up point was diverted to the other exit near KFC and Old Chang Kee on every Monday due to the road closure.
While the make-shift stalls were setting up at about 4 pm, I went to have a look. From durians, jackfruits, drinks, vegetables, fish, toys, dumplings, kueh kueh to roasted ducks, grocery items, satay, otak otak, buns, corns, etc, etc, you can find a diversified range of items here. I saw queues at stalls selling roasted duck, the rojak, jackfruits, fried bee hoon, kuey teow. Residents from Taman Abad also flooded at the fresh vegetables to select their vegetables. While the cold drinks look refreshing and thirst quenching, I would not buy them as their color don't look that natural. It may be labeled soursop, avocado or mulberry and the fruits were displayed side by side, I doubt their authenticity as the drinks appears artificial with color additives.
The fragrant smell of the burning satay was tempting, and I noticed one only stall operated by a female Malay to have attracted more customers than those by males. Probably, her satay sticks are more meaty and cheaper. Rojak, Zhu Chang Fen and Mui Chee stalls were also quite a favorite. The jackfruit stalls also attracted many buyers as the jackfruits were processed on the spot and freshly cut.
I like the Hakka specialty stall selling the Yam abacus (suan pan zi), stinky tofu. The Thai mango sticky rice, the Yaki Gyoza, Penang Laksa, Arisan Fried chicken, Teochew Traditional Oyster puff and the Kampar Rojak look unique and appealing.Written 12 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
