Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I took the ferry from Beppu to Osaka. Best part was the timing of the ferry 18:45 (dep) and 06:30 (arr) at Osaka. Took the 8 person sharing cabin with descent space. Staff is polite and courteous. The highlights of the ferry were the onsen (public bath) and the upper deck on 5th floor. Smoking areas were on the 3rd and 4th floor. Overall I was very happy since I was able to give myself some rest from driving and carry my car from beppu to Osaka in this ferry. Also I would like to mention that sunflower website is very convenient to make booking for passengers and your vehicle. They make the reservation and provide a reservation number online and payment can be done 2 hours prior departure at the counter.

The good place in the morning time was providing forest, mountain, sea and the cities. Spending time about 15 minute for a ride.

We were in Matsuyama and wanted to be in Beppu. An hour west by train. A taxi ride from station to dock-side. A few minutes to buy tickets in the well-apponted ticket hall. And we were on our stately way by ferry from Shikoku to Kyushu.

I'm not sure how many other people there were on the ferry but it felt very much as though we almost had it to ourselves. Huge, spacious decks. Large, clean plate glass windows. Blustety outdoor viewing places. We seldom saw more than one or two other couples as we explored.

Slow, steasy, safe passage through offf-shore islands bursting with vegetation. A little faster but not all choppy through the straits. And then more islands and a welcoming coast line. These two and a half hours were the most relaxing of our whole trip.

Arriving in Beppu was just as hassle-free as leaving Shikoku. Walked off the gang plank, down the slope and there were taxis waiting for us. Foolhardily, we ignored them. We knew where we going and it did noyt look too far on the map. It was. Too far. A walk we could have done without. Beppu is pretty spread out along the coast.

We had joined a bus tour organized by this bus company to visit the seven hells in Beppu. It was a rainy day but our guide was manged to keep everything under control while she was always wearing a warm and welcoming smile. She was all soaked after the tour.

As an onsen lover myself, I enjoyed seeing all the hell pools of different exciting colors. The small museum on 2nd floor of Sea Hell gives very interesting facts about onsen history in this area. I like it! One thing though, almost everything there was in Japanese. But we luckily have our awesome English speaking guide, who knows so much about hot spring in Beppu and excellently explained everything to us.
