You just do not know how magically this place captures your mind and heart. It is a combination of the beauty of nature reflected in the green hills and the hot steam onsens. It is a place where the mind comes to rest and the eyes delight in the magical nature.

    I love this place!

It's definitely the best of the Seven Hells. Very beautiful and surreal place. Definitely recommended for photographers and onsen enthusiasts!

Beppu Ropeway is a great spot to go if you want to enjoy the stunning views of Beppu and Oita.

The view from the summit is beautiful and makes for a terrific photo opportunity. You can explore the paved paths and ascend the mountain’s actual summit from the top. Definitely recommend !

Excellent service from English speaking assistant. We wanted to go to “Hell” Details times of local buses supplied and details of how to access the hot springs.

Visited the onsen facility of the Suginoi resort, which is named Tanayu. Nice rooftop pools with lovely views of Beppu and the bay. There is also an Aqua Garden on the top floor with a few heated pools, which is mixed gender and requires swimsuits. A nice saltwater relaxation chamber is located in Aqua Garden, where children are not allowed. The facility is open all year round, which is a plus.

I'll get the negative out of the way first. The wait time is VERY long. If you don't have patience don't bother. I believe I waited 40 minutes to an hour. Or thereabouts. A LOT of people so it took awhile. Then we had to sit on the bottom level where it was cold as the wind was blowing inside. Once we closed the door it was more bearable. I wouldve liked to sit upstairs but i think that was reserved for locals? That's the negative.

The Positives are this was a fantastic experience of how locals cooked food ever since the Edo period. For a history buff like me it was a very cool experience to have. The food was tasty, and at most took twenty minutes to cook that would be your chicken and pork products. Other things like fish and veggies took a shorter amount of time. I complained about the wait time, but during that time I went out and explored a bit and took some photos so it flew by.

I'd like to go again when there was less people if there is such a thing, and maybe order more food.

We have gone here a couple of times. I enjoyed it. It`s a little on the pricey side for the size of the park. If you really enjoy the park rides, get the unlimited ride price. I think you only ride like 3 or 4 rides individually to make up the cost. The park and rides are on the tired side. They could use some paint and sprucing up but it seems like most countryside places in Japan are like that. Still, it made for a fun day.

As the title says this is the 2nd place I visited of the Hot springs. First we went Blue then we went red. It was shocking hot red in colour this one was. A must for the hotspring tour. It's pretty small, and you should only be there around 20 mins or less. The gift shop has some pretty cool stuff to take away as well.

We chanced upon this lake driving from Yufuin to Beppu. Though it’s cold yet we saw the serenity of it. Best of all are the very friendly swans and lots of koi swimming in the lake. Nice place to visit.

I really enjoyed my visit much more than expected. The collection is very well curated with such an extensive collection of fragrances from around the world. Arrive early if you want to avoid a crowd. Also you will need to pay to enter and there is an additional charge to make your own fragrance. Both Women and Men can make different scents! If you are undecided about your visit, I recommend you visit and also make your own personalized bottle.

    Museum:
The well curated museum starts with the history of fragrance. It is very interesting to smell the natural artifacts where the earliest scents were used. Such as from inside a whale and from parts of a beaver. Next you can see a large collection of famous perfumes from around the world and special display of the history of making the unique bottles for the fragrances. Suggest you visit the 1F and 2F display for 30-45 minutes before you make your own.

    Make your own:
When you arrive schedule your time for making your own fragrance. It may be a short wait. There are two options of 30ml and 50ml quantity with additional charge. I chose the 30ml size. You will learn about the way which perfume is made with three levels of scent (top, Middle, end) You can test different scent from the Top, Middle, End and select your preference for either men or women. Then you carefully mix the quantity, with additional smell tests until you reach 30ml or 50ml quantity. It works very well.

I will start with the positives: the park has less than 50 guests so not crowded, my boys loved the rides they were tall enough for, the loved the small petting area, and also the painting ceramics was a hit!

Negatives: we followed the signs and the gps address from trip advisor and ended up at the top of the mountain. The woman spoke no English but with google translate explained we needed to go the bottom of the hill and take 2 rights. After 30 minutes we finally found the place. We paid to get in and ride the cat car up the mountain. There is No English map or information guide. Once we got into the park we realized the rides had a machine in front of them. We had to pay per each ride a certain amount of tokens. The first ride cost us $12. Sober didn't ride too many rides. It was an ok place and our kids enjoyed it. But we could figures out where many things were or how much they were.

I was in Beppu trying to kill time at night and saw that the Beppu Tower was still open and it would be cool to see at night. The entrance was very cheap, you pay using a ticket vending machine at the bottom and take the elevator up. I thought the viewing deck would have been a lot nicer. I know the building is older, but the windows were so dirty and full of large cracks, it was impossible to get a good photo. You would think they would want to take care of the glass here. Views were decent at night, you can see a good chunk of the city, I am sure the day time views are impressive. I would say it is worth it if there is nothing else to do, it would be cool but needs a lot of work!
