Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Yosemite008Singapore, Singapore40 contributionsUnique architecture of the remnants of centuries old volcanic eruption of Mt ASO!! The locals called the structure orge washboardWritten 17 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- RossOntarioOntario, Canada1,321 contributionsWe arrived at around 3:30. The tide was high, and the Devil's Washboard was mostly covered by water. But the surroundings were still beautiful. We actually drove by similar rock formation along the coastline at Miyazaki. We could have stopped by to admire the washboard. So go early if you want to see the unique formation.Written 16 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ThebroketravellerSingapore, Singapore35 contributionsI came to Aoshima for the Aoshima Shrine in early October.
The view was very beautiful, definitely worth your time to drop by for a photoshoot or simply just to enjoy the scenery.
However, as my title mentioned, it does gets a little hot during the morning and afternoon period as there was little shelter. However, that is only because i came during the hotter season, and if you were to come during a cooler season, this is definitely more comfortable and worth it.Written 2 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Wash board shape stone lines were impressive. One of Nature's wonders.Written 21 October 2013This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Wanderering1Lake Macquarie, Australia760 contributionsThis roadside stop is a good way to gaze over the surrounding coastline. It is just across the road from the Phoenix roadhouse. Watch out for birds of prey soaring along the cliffs.Written 27 October 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Yu YingSingapore, Singapore1,964 contributionsVery beautiful and well kept garden. It is quite huge and we spent a couple of hours walking around and taking photos. The garden itself has no shelter except shade from the trees, so it got a little hot at noon. Lots of kids and families having a picnic and running around. There was also an indoor orchid exhibit/contest going on while we were there. It was an Overall nice experience although it’s kind of out of the way.Written 24 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Andreas S15 contributionsWe visited early July and was told we couldn't swim because it wasn't swimming season. Well every season is swimming season as far as I'm concerned.
Beach was totally deserted, but still clean.
At the end of the beach there is a 'beach club' that serves beer, coffee, ice cream and delicious food.Written 7 July 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I spent over three hours here using the English language audio guide for all the exhibit areas, walking the paths and then there were still the four traditional Japanese style homes re-assembled on the property to look at. The staff were super helpful. They really should charge admission or accept donations or something. This place, combined with Miyazaki Shrine and a meal along Tachibana-dori makes for a great outing in Miyazaki City!Written 20 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Chun Wai L52 contributionsStumbled upon this garden after Aoshima Island. Surprisingly there are a lot of tropical plants in the green houses. Furthermore, its free entrance for all. Enjoyed their garden very much.Written 9 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Gwendolyn AngSingapore, Singapore102 contributionsA super fun place to go to, even my parents were playing the games and laughing along. However, it's a pity that the shows/movies were all in Japanese and we didn't understand a thing. The first floor is rather space-related, whilst the second floor is mostly very fun exhibitions related to science.Written 26 December 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - olafoomesAmstelveen, The Netherlands1,671 contributionsLocated in Heidawai Park (easy accessible by local bus) close to the huge Peace Tower and on top of a really small hill representing an ancient burial site highly artistic and outstanding burial statues are situated. These are not actual burial statues but several hundred clay replicas which are scattered randomly around this specific part of the Heidawai Park.
Also because of the dense forestation and mossy ground an eerie atmosphere was created. Highly interesting stuff. Do not miss it if you are in Heidawai Park.Written 18 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I don't know that it is a "must see" for most, but I found it to be a powerful reminder... a peace tower marking a transitional period in Japanese history. The park has a very different feeling from every other place I visited in Japan. It really echoes another past.Written 28 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sterling EGuam, Mariana Islands589 contributionsA nice observation deck on top of Miyazaki airport. Not much to do at the airport itself so you should stop by if you need to kill time before leaving. There is an airplane on static display on top and you can read up about its history while you are on the deck. Other than, it was your normal observation deck just like other airports.Written 6 October 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
