We'd already visited Termossos and Sagalossos (both spectacular) and Perge (hot) and had run out of enthusiasm for walking around in the heat. We saw a sign for Koprulu Canyon and drove up the mountain. At a high point a man on a motorbike flagged us down to inform us that we had reached the place where you can take a short boat ride upriver underneath a Roman bridge. We negotiated a price and walked down a staircase (there is an easier way) to meet a man in an inflated raft. He paddled us against the strong current to view falls that were pouring directly from holes in the rocks. The water was a milky blue, very clear, and because it was coming from within the rocks we could drink it. Far above us was the arched Roman bridge. The ride was not long, but it was heaven.Written 6 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JulesbSouthLondonCoulsdon, UK281 contributionsThe waterfalls are definitely worth visiting. There are lots of souvenir stalls and cafes around. We paid 30 TL to enter the waterfall and then you have to pay another 30 TL to use the toilet which is a bit annoying when you have already paid to enter, The water is clear and green. It's quite easy to get there by bus from Manavgat town.Written 2 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Katherine Xande... J2 contributionsVisiting the ancient city of Side was like stepping into a time machine and traveling back thousands of years! The mix of stunning ruins, rich history, and breathtaking views made it an unforgettable experience. Walking through the old streets, you can almost feel the stories of the past come alive. The Roman amphitheater is a must-see – it’s so well-preserved, and imagining the performances that once took place there was truly magical.
One of my favorite spots was the Temple of Apollo, especially during sunset. Watching the golden light reflect off the ancient columns as the sea sparkled in the background was simply mesmerizing. It’s a great spot to pause, soak in the beauty, and take some amazing photos.
Tip for Visitors: Wear comfortable shoes! The cobblestone streets and uneven paths can be tricky to navigate. Also, bring a hat, sunscreen, and water, especially during the summer months, as it can get quite hot. Lastly, try to visit early in the morning or closer to sunset – not only is it cooler, but the soft lighting also makes for a more magical experience.
Side Ancient City is a treasure trove of history, and I’d highly recommend taking your time to explore it fully. Whether you’re a history lover or just looking for a beautiful place to wander, this place is an absolute gem!Written 27 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NBassistCzestochowa, Poland14 contributionsIf you're in Turkey and can't or don't want to spend 2 days for Cappadocia, you should take a trip to Tazi Canyon and the nearby ancient city Selge. Beautiful, unforgettable fairy-tale views, an interesting road and the chance to buy local products.Written 23 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Finley L2 contributionsThe market was hot and stuffy, as you would expect, but soled cheap fake goods. The market had shops, witch I'd recommend for a better quality. You can haggle with most sellers here.Written 19 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Nakhati JonNew York152 contributionsThey are redoing the site, and hopefully, it will be open in the future. - Paul BManchester, UK34 contributionsstayed in side star elegance for one wee, wow what a hotel i recon it is one of the best that side of side, 2 heated pools one inside, one massive cold pool down near the beach, this hotel is on about 7 different levels and even though there are lifts every where you will find it hard going if you limp etc. my only hatred was meal times it is organised chaos, they ring a bell when you can start picking what you like and there is hundreds of different dishes the place is massive, but finding a table etc is beyond horrible. i suffer with anxiety and after 2 days i gave up, out of the 3 meals a day a total of 21 meals i bet i only went down for 4 it was that bad. shame as this hotel is run like a military base. 90 percent zee germans use the hotel but this did not bother me, even though i only had 2 conversations and they were brief.Written 6 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
