Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- dubzOxford, UK287 contributionsAgain, another great piece of historical nature, re rendered to make it look brand new. Its fairly cheap to get in, and walking around it no issue. People obviously gravitate to the tower. The steps are steep, and there are lots of them. Great views of the Ribat and the surrounding area and marina from up there. We even got a lovely "murmuration" from the local starling population!Written 3 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A nice view of all the big ships, yachts and little boats. Nice walkway facing many hotels, restaurants and cafes. A nice beach and open for swimming for public.Written 14 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- joeRainhill, UK13 contributionsWe went to the museum of the president on the recommendation of our taxi driver, and I’m so glad we did. The grounds are stunning, and it shows a lot of history from the old president of Tunisia. The free entry is good for a cheap hour out. I would highly recommend going to see the museum if your in the areaWritten 24 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Haytham Abu FirasQatar21,086 contributionsWe visited Monastir, city of the late President of Tunisia Habib Bourguiba and had a short stop at this wonderful mosque. It’s located opposite the Ribat or the Fortress of Monastir.Written 14 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - aymen slamaMonastir, Tunisia6 contributionsit offers lots of games for children and even for ados and adults, never think to take the Monastir eye(the big circle that is like the London eye) because someone died there, be careful when playing. the café-resto is good, cheap prices but not that great food, nothing special in it, just regular food. you have to try it especially when with your children but you won't have that much fun.Written 27 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sarah GWakefield, UK20 contributionsMy daughter liked it and so did I until I got told off by the attendant. He said it is only for little children? So we didn't go on it after that. My husband had been on it the day before and he was fine. Strange and quite pointless unless you have really small kids.Written 15 August 2014This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We went for a canter on the beach which was very enjoyable. - Dirk WAlexandra Headland, Australia10,137 contributionsThe Great Mosque of Monastir was built a little later than the ribat and it sits right next to it. You will walk past it when entering the ribat and get a birds-eye view from the top of the ribat watchtower. It was not open for non-Muslim visitors when I was there and it would appear that's a permanent thing.Written 21 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
