Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Zane ZRiga, Latvia258 contributionsTo be honest the only thing worth seeing here is the view form the top. There is little exhibition but it is only in arabic and french languages. Not much of decorations.Written 29 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- CassimaSKBicester, UK346 contributionsIt was a very special experience coming there. Huge cemetery just by the sea with lots of white graves. Come for a peaceful walk but make sure to pay the respect while being there.Written 15 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CassimaSKBicester, UK346 contributionsThis ancient gate is the entrance to Mahdia town. Looks quite impressive from the front however, it's not easy to find a right angle for a quality photo as is located just outside a very busy roundabout.
Inside, along the way to Old town, there are some traders (not too pushy though comparing to everywhere else).Written 15 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. After 1100 years, the mosque still attracts crowd for prayers nd has been well maintained by the care takers of the mosque.Written 18 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - N HNewton Le Willows, UK4,542 contributionsThere are a few good mosaics from El Jem and some Roman statues downstairs. Upstairs are more recent exhibits- coins, manuscripts, chests etc.
You can go outside and climb the stairs to the roof for some amazing views of the surrounding countryside and sprawling town.
A good museum but doesn’t take long to go around, entrance is 8td.Written 20 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
