What a temple with an amazing structure and arrangements to reach to Darshan. Must take guide with you and at least spare 60 minutes post Darshan to see the temple and to understand the temple. Its unbelievable!!

This museum in Madurai is one of the 5 Gandhi Sangrahalya in India. It is a great place to learn history and fight for freedom. You can see lot of objects and writings from Gandhiji. You can buy books and souvenirs here. The blood stained clothes of Mahatma Gandhi is must see in the museum. Have a look at the gallery of images from the Indian freedom movement days. Also don't forget to visit the library in the north wing. Locker rooms are available and pets are not allowed in the premises. This museum is located in the heart of city and hence accessible by bus, car, taxi, hired taxi, auto etc.

Hundreds of pillars, carved with awesome sculpture and
eye elusive paintings on roof, Equally distanced, a marvel of architecture, you can not believe these were made at that era when no modern building equipment was available. Single stones were transported by elephants with coconut ropes and made of old tools, No computer, graphics etc... Hats off the artists and engineer's of that time.

It is one of the six prominent temples of lord Murugan. It is about 4-5 km from Alaar Koil on the hills. Lord Murugan along with his brother Ganesha and his Aayudha appears in a pleasant way and blesses the devotees .

THis ancient temple located at the foot hills of a lovely hillock is part of the arupadai veedu temples for Lord Murugan. This temple is close to Madurai city and can be easily reached. Lots of devotees visit this temple to offer prayers to Lord Murugan. Arrangements have been made to ensure that pilgrims visiting can walk in properly organized lines and have proper darshan and also offer poojas.

Walk around this glorious temple tank during evening hours, when it’s not very hot. Can take few photos. There are several roadside eateries around, which may not be very hygienic. Must visit, if you are in Madurai .

This temple is situated near Madurai maatuthaavani bus stand. From here take the route to othakadai.

Then take a right turn and go for about 2 KMS. The temple will be on your left side..

The temple complex is huge and it has a very big pond nearby..

Chalkrathaalvaar sannithi is very famous here .

Please make this your top priority - this was home to Ramana Maharshi and this was where he had his first experience of self realization - well maintained by Tiruvannamalai Ramanashram trust although the approach road should have proper directions to guide first-timers.

Noopura Ganaga is a river where all the season water is flowing. It is a miracle. It is in the Alagar koil hills. After having the darshan of Lord Murugan in Palamudhirsolai. I one can climb steps to reach Noopura Gangai Theertham. It is a holy water source where we can take bath, or pour water on the head. Till date it is a miracle, that one cannot find the place from where the holy water comes. But all over the year water is available here. The Raykkai Amman Temple is dedicated to Goddess Rakkayi who is the daughter of Aangirasa Rishi and is the custodian of all the water bodies in the vicinity of Azhagar Malai or Hills. A small but perennial river called the Noopura Gangai flows from the sanctum sanctorum of this temple – from the feet of the Goddess and waters are used for performing the holy bath of the Deities in this temple. There is a motor able road up to the base of the temple and then one has to climb about 50 odd steps to reach the temple premises. The devout tourists visiting Pazhamudir Solai Murugan Temple should also visit this temple to get the blessings of the Goddess. The Temple Authorities have provided a outlet for the holy waters where the devotees can bathe before entering the sanctum sanctorum. A devotee praying sincerely to this Goddess is supposed to be blessed and her powers ward of the curses and bad omen. The priests offer kumkum, flowers and lemon from the feet of the Goddess as prasadam to the devotees.A bath here is supposed to cure skin ailments.A Small but divine temple

Vaigai Dam is situated about 68 Kms from Madurai City. It is built across the river Vaigai. View from the top of the dam is awesome. Top of the dam can be reached by climbing about 100 steps. View from the top is worth climbing those steps.

We went to the ISKCON temple here in the evening for darshan of Lord Krishna. The Lord Krishna's idol is very beautifully decorated. A very peaceful and tranquil place to go to in Madurai.
