Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Pamesiki10 contributionsThere is a great little beach to swim. The only trick to know is that if you are coming by the path from town, you have to walk the length of the ocean beach, follow the path within the trees, and the sheltered bay opens up before you. Much safer than the ocean beach.
If the walk is too long you can take the water taxi service back to town (currently $10 one way)Written 26 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. If they ask me if I would go back to Galapagos, I would say yes because it is something beautiful and you get an unforgettable experience.Written 23 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Eileen108Mount Shasta, CA5,985 contributionsEl Chato was a fun place to go around, seeing all the wild tortoises and see the birds and lush greenery! They provided rubber boots in case it was muddy, and very good coffee and tea also! There is also a lava tunnel. We went here as part of our 2-week Galapagos yacht cruise.Written 18 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TobiasMunich, Germany81 contributionsIts 40$ to go there by taxi and back to town. Windy beach, cool place. A lot of pelicans to watch, even hunting for fish……..Written 30 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Peter RDartford, UK1,382 contributionsInteresting place to stand and watch the fisherman unloading their catch. As soon as they arrive the local pelicans, frigate birds and sealions also arrive waiting for their share of the catch. There are also plenty of iguanas and crabs sunbathing on the rocks.Written 27 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Susan I24 contributionsIt was ok. I only did the 1st one because the 2nd one would have been to different for me. I'm 74. There were many people and couldn't really enjoy the experience. I very much enjoyed zel RanchoWritten 16 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Amber CToronto, Canada25 contributionsI and my husband wanted to come to Galapagos for a long time. I have done a lot of reading but did not want to buy any trips online. We were very lucky to meet Jorge at Galapagos Path. He truly listened to what we wanted, which was to see the most of Galapagos in a limited time and on a modest budget. Jorge made for us a rather intense 8 days island hopping trip; he even managed to fit a flight from Isabela island to San Cristobal which not only saved us a lot of time but provided an unique experience of flying with 5 seater plane (the ride was very smooth and only took 40 min or so).
We visited Santa Cruz Island, Bartolomeo , Floreana, Isabela and San Cristobal. We went on snorkelling and walking trips each day, and Jorge made everything to go very smooth and easy. He even came every morning at 6 or 7 am to personally escort us to the Marina and introduce to the guides. We even met his wife Dolores when they brought us a breakfast when everything around was still not open. Jorge is not only a true professional but also a very caring person, who goes above and beyond the businesses responsibilities. We do not speak Spanish, and understand that a lot of things could go wrong with a different type of person. We highly recommend Galapagos Path to make your trip just you wanted!
Thank you again, Jorge and Dolores!

It was the liveliest island we visited, the others island’s we visited being San Cristobal and Isabela. It was a good stop for some R&R or maybe as a base to visit other islands, but both San Cristobal and Isabela were much better for wildlife and site seeing.Written 27 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nicki EIllinois601 contributionsDefinitely worth a stop—even better if you've learned something about their formation and the scalesia trees that grow here. Majestic, and the hike through the forest is very peaceful.
Would love to come back at an earlier time in the day with fewer people around. But even with lots of human activity & voices, I saw doves, a mockingbird, and a Galápagos flycatcher.Written 15 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There are many birds to watch and also some see life such as turtles, sharks, rays but little bit far away from the beach. This is a small beach without many shade. Easy to get but you need to take a water taxi 0,80$ and then walk about 5 minutes, it is same direction as to Las Grietas which is further along,Written 25 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - shalini_raoBoston, MA39 contributionsMost of the boardwalk is closed and doesn’t seem like there is any maintenance or upkeep of the place. We did see green turtles, plenty of fish and birds in the area though. - Jordan BStuart, FL44 contributionsAmongst the numerous souvenir shops selling T shirts and socks is this impressive fine art gallery. They have a great selection of art in a variety of mediums. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful without being intrusive which is so important while trying to browse and take it all in. Like I imagine most of the customers are, we were there on a short shopping break from our Galapagos cruise. We are not impulse buyers. The staff was happy to let us take pictures of what we liked and they have a great website so we were able to browse more and contact them when we got home. Martin and Paola were so helpful with multiple emails and we are now the happy owners of a pair of blue footed boobie sculptures by Jorge Espana. Definitely stop by when visiting the island!Written 4 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
