Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Museum is wonderfully designed. We especially liked the library which has a good collection of historical books and photographs, enlightening us on the history and culture of the country. However, I was expecting more exhibits on the history but the displays lack depth & context for a foreigner.

The access fee is small and you get to visit two places, the perfumes show room and the creek's history room, overall it's a nice experience and good information.

Would thoroughly recommend this museum. It is divided into about 14 ‘houses’ each devoted to a theme such as the birth of Dubai, arts and crafts, perfumes etc. The displays and audio visual supplements are excellent and best of all each house has a guide who explains and walks you through the exhibits and answers questions you may have. We were there about 2 hours and only managed to do 5 of the houses. So we would definitely return on our next trip to Dubai. The houses are air conditioned (which was a welcomed relief in August) and the entry fee was very modest - great value for money.

The museum is amazing and you can see the real history of the region, by amazing old othentic manuscripts and rare items. from the local gallery and the religion gallery. i dont think i see anything similar to this around. highly reccomand to the history lovers. i like the most the Pearl Gallery and the religious one.

A well laid out, information packed, calm and studious museum away from the "madding crowd". Dropped in here having already been to Dubai Museum. This was Soo much better. Quiet and dignified with good signage, easy to follow route and helpful staff. Ticket also gives admittance to the new perfume museum around the corner - which was also well worth a visit.

One of the attractions at the Al Bastakiya/Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood, stamp lovers will definitely have a field day at the Philately House as this place has stamps dating back from the turn of the century. Many of these are still displayed with the postcards or envelopes they traveled with. The stamps themselves reflect the culture and the milieu – showing prominent figureheads, attractions, and sights the world over. If you love history, culture and your snail mail, you will love it here.
