Kevin, the local guide in Panajachel who took us to San Juan La Laguna has a real talent, is a true gentleman and a real knowledgeable guide. The kid is an encyclopedia.

- kimpmHouston, TX86 contributionsSimoon Rentals and Tours provides an outstanding ATV experience! I am probably not the typical ATV rider…solo female, 55+ years old, with just one prior ATV experience. But I loved it and wanted to do it again. The others in my group were very young men. But the guides were wonderful about it. They did not make me feel uncomfortable at all-just the opposite! One of the guides, Erick, stayed back with me (the young guys wanted to go fast, of course😂). Erick. Was. Awesome. He made sure I was safe, gave me riding tips, and created a wonderful experience for me! Additionally, Erick is full of local knowledge and it was so interesting to learn more about his culture. His English was perfect, much better than my Spanish. Also, lucky for me, Erick is an aspiring photographer. He took so many fabulous pictures and videos and I really appreciated his skills! In summary, don’t miss out on this experience-the guides are top-notch! The only problem that we had was that the driver getting there from Antigua took a very curious route through the mountains and drove very fast. That part wasn’t a pleasant experience. The actual tour was amazing. The ride back was great with a really good driver who took a really safe route and drove very safely. - Christianna W1 contributionMy girlfriends and I did this tour as part of a Bachelorette trip to Guatemala and it was easily everyone’s favorite activity of the entire trip. The tour was so fun, thorough and informative! Our tour guides Gio and Erickson were amazing. A few spots during the tour were tricky to traverse and they were super patient, helping each of us along and making sure we were comfortable and safe. The views were also stunning throughout. The volcano itself was such a unique experience that I truly don’t think you could get elsewhere! Also, the team at Simoon was super communicative and helpful. Overall, I would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind adventure. Quick tip: ask your tour guide to start early due to traffic in the morning and also possibly of rain in the evening. And wow, did we ever have a good guide for this tour! Milton was fantastic and the itinerary was absolutely perfect! I loved that he took us on a couple of very short drives to surrounding communities that we would have never known to visit on our own! The drawback to most food tours is that you are limited to what is within walking distance. But Cuscun puts a different spin on it and it works out perfectly! Milton was so informative and passionate about sharing his culture! He was a very easy person to enjoy being around. And the food…omgsh, fantastic! She guided us through the market, bought several pieces of fruit we were not familiar with so that we can try them. We then took a Tuk-Tuk to the school where we met our Chef Beli n. They were both great at explaining to us and showing is what to do. We tried several new things, and made a delicious 3 course dinner. It was so simple to make and so very flavorful. Plus they were both a joy! There were 3 of us in my group and we all had a great time. The roof top kitchen was awesome, with great views of the volcano and other mountains.
